well consider the figures a dead in the water commodity once the movie line hits. 25th style or not I doubt very few collectors are gonna want our classic line characters done in horrid powersuits or worse semi-colord X-men movie styled black suits or grey camo. Hasbro once again, just like with the tf classics, cant see past their own bellies and will drop a perfectly succesful toy line to bilk their craptacular movie stuff that will end up peg warming for months on end. Why are these companies so frackin stupid?

they should put the hiatus on hiatus
there is NO WAY the movie line will sell anything like the redoo's of the classics. it won't happen. for one thing kids just don't play with toys like we did back in the day. they have to many other things to entertain them. so we are there market they just have not figured it out yet. i guess i will take another flop llke the movie line for them to get it. |

Golob thats wishful thinking. Hasbro will just kill the line and pull this same crap when our kids are doin what we're doin. While i agree we are the majority of their joe market they see kids as their target and give two left nuts about us.

Without bashing Hasbro too much, it's obvious why Hasbro wants to push the movie line over the "classic look" line...There's roughly 6 to 7 Joes, a few Cobras, they can milk the same molds over, and over, and over.
The body of Duke will be used for Snake Eyes, and used for Breaker and used for RipCord...They think they can make the same $ spending less, might work, I doubt, but it might. The ONLY reason they're using the word "Hiatus" is that if they use the word "Cancelled", then they'd be facing the same problem that lead to the DTC a few years back. Ticked off collectors, which means every single person on this and several other web sites. With a limited amount of Joes and Cobras...the best thing they could do is after the movie dies down ( I won't be mean and say 1 week after it opened :P ) start fazing the 25th/Hall of Heroes/Classic back into the toy stores. Like some people on this tread have said...who wants a Low Light ( or fill in the blank, whichever figure ) dressed as the movie figures? Not too many. |

I can just see Hasbro adding a new head to Dukes movie version body in order to make a RipCord movie figure. And then re-release them both later on, repainted in Sigma6 colors. It makes me scared they'll cancel the line again due to figures choking up the isles, like the Pirates and Indy figures currently do. After the cancellation of the He-Man 200X line and DreamWave's TransFormers comics, I don't think my heart can take much more. I can just hope they continue with the TransFormers Classics2.0/Universe and release some of the classic G.I.Joe vehicles and playsets for the movie line, before it goes kaput. (Since they still have the mold, I actually think there's a good chance we'll see the 1992 G.I.Joe HeadQuarters re-released for the movie line. And the TerrorDrome, if they still have the mold.)

During the Movie Hiatus next year, Heres what I think Hasbro should do with the 25th line since they are giving us a break.
they should redistribute the previous figures and vehicles. give newer people who walk away fromt he movie liking it a chance to get in on the 25th, while also giving the experianced collectors a chance to snatch up some of the stuff we havent gotten yet(I still need 3 more hiss tank drivers :P)perhaps they will stuff the pegs with BATs to appease us. what do you all think? Post your Hiatus ideas |
