This is my guess. A departure from the standard Cobra trooper formula, and he is left on the pegs everywhere...
What do you think?

I think the adhesion to the Hasbro formula of "pack something cool one per case, then once almost everyone has one send out a revision case with multiples" is the reason JV is clogging pegs.

Imagine if they made the JV more like the classic night viper - they wouldn't be able to make enough. But they make it a little bulkier and give it a massive gun and it sits on the pegs.
I just may buy a few more so I can modify them into night vipers, Data viper would be similar - we would go nuts for the first wave of them, but if Hasbro sent more out they would probably sit on the pegs. Sad to see they scratched them though |

If he made it to tooling, we'll see him somewhere eventually, but I would not be surprised if underperformance by the Jungle-Viper figure influenced the decision. As someone else noted on another thread: It seems to be a vocal minority of the Joe fanbase that clamors for genuinely new stuff, because when genuinely new stuff pops up, it rarely sells well compared to more "classic" stuff. No matter how cool it might be.
Damn shame, too. Looked like a cool figure, especially with those mini-UAVs. |

I don't know. This figure looked uber dumb to me. Seems like a Hasbro WTF moment. It does have that in common with the Jungle Viper. I would not have bought these. That's what Techno Vipers are for!
