ROC Storm Shadow is STILL pegwarming at all the Walmarts I go to. The new Duke is peg warming at my Walmart. Arctic Destro is pegwarming like crazy across the entire country. Looks like Hawk from the latest wave is next. Would 1 Data Viper really have made that much of a difference? If they released this figure would it really have doomed the entire franchise?
I don't think it would have made much of a difference. As with every other toy ever released, people that like it would buy it & people that didn't like it would pass on it. But instead everybody that liked it is just plain screwed now. |

I wish I could find JV around here, I'm still not done with that one.

Didn't a lot of people buy JV from china sellers, when it rumored he was supposed to be cancelled? If you're not troopbuilding, there was no real need to buy another one at retail.

I don't think it would have made much of a difference. As with every other toy ever released, people that like it would buy it & people that didn't like it would pass on it. But instead everybody that liked it is just plain screwed now. my guess is that Hasbro has set a specific amount of figures they are going to produce before the movie line comes out so to try and avoid the fiasco that occurred at the end of the ME line, and in determining what they wanted to release during the 30th Anniversary line they decided Data Viper doesn't fit. now, they are either going to only release everything we have seen so far, or in determining what they want out of the 30th line they have added additional character -- characters more than likely that are updates from RAH. so the question becomes, would you rather have Data Viper, or an updated Jinx or Fast Draw if that is indeed why the DV got the boot? I assure you, this wasn't an arbitrary decision, and perhaps if you stopped whining, ranting and raving you could catch your breath and think of many alternative and positive reasons for the DV being canceled. |

Sing "Jungle Viper killed the Data Viper" to the tune of "Video Killed The Radio Star."
It's fun.

My thoughts- Sniper rifle is too ludicrously huge and long and his gillie suit is kind of a cluster to get all of the pieces to function appropriately. Ultimately he's better for posing in a diorama setting than as a functional figure. As a kid I prob would have relegated him to the toy box more often than pulling him out to fight with, and if I feel this way than more likely most kids feel the same. |
