Hello all,
I just wanted to get some people’s opinion(s) on Sideshow Collectibles. I am not a 12" collector, but I am really thinking of pick up one of the Sideshow Collectibles joe/cobra figures. Just want to see what fellow tankers think would be the best Sideshow Collectible figure to pick up that might make me a fan of the line right out of the gate. Thanks. |

Open it! You should be able to close it all back up again if you have to without it looking obvious.
Sideshow figures are pure plastic crack Once you start messing around with Beachhead you wont want to stop! |

Open it! And buy the ones I'm selling!
They're great collectibles and I wish I had the room for them. I'm only going to keep a few. :/ |

I wasn't a 12" collector either, until I found sideshow website!! Damn SS. You can open it, most of the SS Joes sell out, so if you take care of it, you can sell it down the road.

You know I have never been a big 12" fan either. I always thought the stuff Hasbro did for the A Real American Hero characters was... well pretty much crap. When Sideshow released the figures in late 2009 I thought they looked great, but that was about it; I had no intention of buying them. Then about a month ago I held one in my hands, and I was hooked. I now have 6 of them( some are on route ) and I love them. They are the ultimate figures for capturing the essence of the classic characters. And incredible display pieces. Flint was my first figure and I spent two hours just... uh well playing with him. My advice for buying a first figure would probably be Beach Head, since he is nearly perfect imho. Flint is awesome, but his shotgun shells are a pain in the a@$ to insert into his web-gear. Snake Eyes is incredible, but he is hitting the $200 plus mark on E-Bay. My only real complaints about the toys is their ankles all seem to be kind of loose. But, you can fix that rather easily. And they are 12" figures so they take up a whole lot of room. But, they look darn awesome on display.

So far I got them all, dusty and Stalker will be here soon....BUT I have not opened any except for my extra Cobra Commander to pose on the throne environment. I originally was going to buy 2 of each and started to, but it became VERY expensive after about the 4th/5th one so I sold the extras.
I have the waypoint environment, but no loose SE. So it sits displayed with Timber lol.... The other environments which look good, I will have to let the completist in my pass on these, too many too expensive, I may get the arakashiage environment, but the others are pretty generic looking environments...maybe pick them up for cheaper down the road but can't do it with so much else I would rathe rhave. |
