I FINALLY got my first Volcano Viper today after having him be one of my most desired figures since seeing him on display years ago, totally lived up to my expectations, can't wait for Hazard Viper too.
Anyway, it got me to thinking "what do those tanks on his chest say?" I thought at first it might just be jibberish as it's way too tiny to pick up with the naked eye (or at least I can't read it) so I put him under a magnifying glass, and then took a picture on my macro setting: I think it reads: "DANGER HAZARDOUS GASES CONTAINS BLEND OF LIQUID ?PHYLOBARSXLORN? AND OXYGEN SUPERCOOLED TOXIC AND/OR HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED. USE ALL OF THE CORRECT DEVICES. USE CAUTION WHEN HANDLE" I thought this was pretty cool. Can anyone figure out that word that starts with PH? |

I can't make it out. I'd bet it is a made up word that has something to do with phlogiston theory (which was an old time theory of why things burned). I'll look at my Volcano Viper when I get home and see if it is clearer.

Been wondering what that said. Those little Chinese kids in the Hasbro factory sure write small.
I also like the Engrish

"8.Health and Safety Factors Hazards associated with the use of oxygen derive from the facts that the cryo- genic liquid is very cold and increases in volume enormously when it vaporizes, that combustion rates accelerate with oxygen concentrations above 21%, and that the gas is transported and dispensed in high pressure cylinders. Liquid oxygen and other cryogenic liquids can inflict severe damage on human tissues.
Protective gloves, garments, and face shields are imperative, and detailed advance instruction in procedures for use are essential before any activity invol- ving liquid oxygen is undertaken (14,30-33). At ambient pressure, the volume of a given quantity of liquid oxygen increases 860 times during the change from the boiling liquid to the gas at ambient temperatures. " "It may seem hard to believe that phlogiston theory, which is incorrect, was so persistent. How could it survive all of the attacks, and come back for more? I think the answer is that phlogiston theory is actually very close to the truth. If we consider a chemical's tendency to take up oxygen, and call its lack of oxygen "phlogiston," we can describe absolutely any chemical reaction involving oxygen. Instead of putting oxygen on one side of any chemical equation, we can put this anti-oxygen on the other side. It will always balance. " I think it may be a mod on the word phosporous: "Phosphorus compounds are used in explosives, nerve agents, friction matches, fireworks, pesticides, toothpastes, and detergents.especially since: The name Phosphorus in Ancient Greece was the name for the planet Venus" and: "The Venusian surface was a subject of speculation until some of its secrets were revealed by planetary science in the twentieth century. It was finally mapped in detail by Project Magellan in 1990–91. The ground shows evidence of extensive volcanism" so basically phosphorous = venus= volcano planet maybe?

It's cool that they put that amount of detail into their product, it could have just been red lines and I wouldn't have minded.

Awesome!
Love these kind of tiny written details, like Wild Weasels legs. I hope Airthight comes with the "Airthight" written on his arm like the toon. .
