Looking over my 2 Steel Crushers I'm realizing how badly Hasbro dropped the ball on arguably the coolest toy in all of ROC. First, they obviously tried to include the "recreating aspects of the movie" idea into this thing which is why there's pegs on the roof and the side missiles and of course the missile launcher in the back. But they never thought maybe kids would want SS and Baroness in the backseat? I mean to recreate the scene one of those two has to be driving.
This thing really should be a 4 seater. They could have easily scaled down the missile launcher to make room in the back for two more seats. Also, this thing goes so well with AVs and STs and yet is wasted by the fact that it can only carry a whopping 2 figs! If they couldn't scale it down, just make it detachable or something to a peg on the roof. Or couldn't they have rigged some kind of action feature where the trunk swings open and up laying down on the roof in such a way that the missile launcher ends up on top. I really just hate seeing those two doors and not being able to open them! Anybody else frustrated that has love for the Steel Crusher? I vote for a re-release the Steel Crusher labled "Cobra's Swat Van." Color it dark, swat blue like the STs and get rid of the dumb action feature and not only make the back two doors functioning, but the trunk too with shelves to rest the guns. |

I am actually looking to buy a couple of Steel Crushers to put with my Shock Troopers and Alley Vipers.
I agree with you 100%, Hasbro should re-mold this to make it a 4 seater. IMO it is the best vehicle from RoC and deserves to come back in some fashion. |

I agree mate the Steel Crusher was one of the highlights of Roc and would have been one of my favorites if the back doors had opened.

It would have been nice for a 4 door version. But most likely Hasbro made this months before the movie was filmed. Also, I believe Hasbro was trying to incorporate M.A.S.K. Jackhammer qualities into the design.
Just keep in mind how Hasbro thinks. Kids want toys with "cool features". Hasbro today has too many things to compete for kids time and money. If it's a truck with no features, kids today think it's a wasted opportunity.

lol I'm sure the goal was to re-create classic moments from a movie that kids forgot about 10 minutes after they saw it.

I picked up my SC cheap at Meijer last year and wished they had more, but 1 is the only thing they had at that time. Since recently i got back into Joe, i thought the Steel Crusher and the Crimson Hydra was the 2 best Cobra vehicles from the ROC line. Didnt care for the Night Raven, i thought it was trash! It would have been better if it didnt have the shot gun pump action gimmick along with the light sounds as well.

The first thing I thought when I saw the PoC Alley Viper and Shock Troopers was that they would go great with the Steel Crusher. I was also super disappointed that the Steel Crusher had no real backseat.
So yeah, I would want a new version. |
