I love this figure and gave it a 9. It only lost a point for the M1 Garand. I love the artic theme and have bought two of each of the artic figures so far. The baggy uniforms are great.

Sorry to throw in even more confusion, but are you guys sure about the gun? I got one in front of me and it looks a LOT more like the Garand than the 903.
Fred's gun. M1 Garand M1 903 Oddly enough, both originally made by Springfield. Someone at Hasbro knows their guns, and had some fun equipping it to Fred. |

I like the figure, though it's tough finding one with nice paint apps on the face. I already had a custom cold weather shippy (using 25th arctic SE), so made a couple of "greenshirt" arctic soldiers by swapping for tatum heads with desert duke helmets. Suprisingly, they go well with with this off-white/dirty uniform. I was very happy with the result. BTW, this shippy head looks pretty good on Whiteouts body.

LOL Yeah, I do agree. had they left Polly as either the Amazon as in the 25th or like the original Yellow Nape.. things would have been fine. But the Military McCaw? I'm kind of questioning that. The McCaw is a beautiful and very large bird.. but the smaller YellowNape Amazon is just more fitting to me. SteelBrigade- I like the Artic threat version, due to it being unique.. now.. unique doesn't mean useful, He's cool cause of being different. I agreed with some of the other posts about his legs and why would Polly be in anything less then a frozen tundra. But... There have been original episodes where Polly was in the cold. Just not very often. Overall... top Ranking figure for my collection. can't imagine why! hahahaha Have a great one . Awesome thread!

Springfield '03(1903) is also a nice weapon. The M1G is the decendent of the later M1Carbine, then M2Carbine and all of them lead to the more lethal offspring of the prefered M14 and M14soc. Still prefered by some of the USMC and Spec Ops today. Like the M1911 and M1911a1... the M1 has been time and time again since WW1 combat tested Soldier approved, Collector worthy.

Nice review SB. I'm a big Shipwreck fan and liked this version. I docked a couple of points for the weapon, I don't really care about specifics but I don't like the Fred rifle. Not sure about the spear either but I think it's cooler than the rifle. Ended up rating him at an 8.

At first I didn't like that Shippy was "dirty" looking next to my other Arctic figures. But it sort of grew on me - I always imagined Shipwreck sort of being a little dirty and greasy.
