I really like this figure. Maybe not as Duke, but I'm seeing plenty of possibilities for a custom. Little spot of paint here, a headswap there, and bang, RAINBOW Operative. My only problem is the skinny little arms...

Shin, your review absolutely SOLD me on this figure! I had every intention of passing it by until I saw your pics. Now I have three.
They've become my new Steel Brigade, which looks a lot more menacing than than the PIT Commando versions I had. I just used the PIT Commando heads instead of the Duke heads; saves forcing the SB helmet over Duke's enormous ears. The Duke heads went on the Commando bodies, with the gas masks to cover up the faces. Thanks for the great review! Last edited by GSInc; 12-20-2009 at 11:03 AM.. |

Saw this in person. Has no appeal to me. Especially, the likeness of movie actors as a 3 3/4" figures. Pure garbage!

I think there was an interview with Channing Tatum where he looked at his figure and said "THAT'S ME?!!!!". Sienna Miller joked her likeness on the Baroness figures too(the wave 1 version...whoa...the head sculpt is the worst part!).

Nice review...
Though, I'd have to admit, I'll pass on this one as well. Gave him a 5 out 10 (because I'm kind and I think that taking time to do paint apps should still be rewarded), because, from my point of view, i.e. as a parts fodder point of view (as 95% of my figures go to customs) there isn't much I personally can use. HEAD Well, it is a nice head mold, albeit too big. Though I already have 2 Channing Tatum heads in my group, so, unless I form teams comprised of triplets, I don't really need another ROC Duke head. REACTIVE IMPACT ARMOR The reactive armor torso I could probably use, but I already have 5 of them as a team, so it isn't really my priority. THIGHS, CALVES & FEET The legs are all Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes, and, to be honest, it is one of the leg molds I hate the most from the 25th/ROC/POC lines. The other is the Arctic Viper Legs. The Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes legs are a bit on the short side, in baggy pants, and the feet look neither here nor there for me. Worse still, one would have to do major sculpting to match either the PP thighs to other calves, or the PP calves to other thighs. BELT Well, let's face it. I miss the working holster web gear and belts of the 25th figures like Snake Eyes and Beach Head. But the belt that comes with this figure, like the belts on Reactive Impact Armor Duke, Ripcord, Jungle Assault Ripcord, etc., are not only just for display (i.e. non-working holsters), but have puny pistols as well! It's like either they're packing those lady's double barrel double shot POCKET pistols IN A HOLSTER, or they all smoke and have a special holster for their small cigarette lighters that are, because they're in the army, shaped like miniature guns. If this figure does become rare and sought after, I have a pair of PP Snake Eyes legs, several Reactive Impact Armor Torsos & Arms, and a pair of Channing Tatum Heads, so I'll just kit bash one, paint it, and make millions on Ebay.

I picked this Duke up the other day. He's ok, a little bit of color added to the usual black armor look the movie characters tend to have. I like the sword and scabbard that fits on his back, but I don't know why Duke of all people would carry it. It's not a bad figure, but not too inventive, either. I think I will end up doing some parts swaps and turn him into a new character, though...
