The Eel was one of the most anticipated figures from the 25th/ modern line last year. Many fans wanted to army build this figure and many searched for months in vain. I personally only saw 3 on the shelves and I purchased 2, one for me and one for a friend. Many of you are wondering what does this has to do with a ROC review and I am getting to that………trust me
Hasbro realized fans wanted more Eels and with the launch of the ROC merchandise, Hasbro along with Target knew this would be a perfect opportunity to get this desirable figure back on the market. Target wanted deluxe packs as exclusives and with that request we received the ROC colored Eel! The Eel has the same construction as his modern counterpart; the only difference is the paint scheme. He now sports a dark grey and black pattern. Many Joe fans consider this version to be the Eel commander and truthfully, it works. Along with the same constructions comes the same old problem(s). He still has a hard time holding his gun and his re-breather does not want to stay on. These are minor in comparison to the alternative which would be no figure at all but I do wish Hasbro would have addressed the issues at hand. The other item included in the pack is the Joe vs. Cobra Wave Crusher (originally released in 2003) with a new paint scheme. The yellow/ blue pattern is a thing of the past and now we have a black/ red color scheme. This works very well and I must say I like it a lot. The vehicle still has the shooting torpedo (or rocket depending on what you call it) and you still have 3 different play options. I know many have wondered about the back peg holes and unfortunately, they do not work with either modern or ROC figures. Overall, I like the pack and I jumped at the chance to own another Eel figure. The wave crusher was an added bonus and the price point is right on the mark ($9.99). If you want this piece you can still purchase it from Target but do not wait; I do see this figure flying off the shelves very soon. I rate this set as a solid 9 |

Nice review VQ!! I picked up a test-shot of this figure back when the ROC Chinese leak-hype was at an all time high on Ebay, & I have to say... I'm glad I did. He is by far the hardest to find in my area, & even though all of my Targets are stocked with wave 1, I have only seen this particular figure twice!!

Believe it or not after four I have started passing on this figure. I see him everytime I go to Target. I still have not seen the wave 2 ones yet.

Great review, VQ! I have 2 of these so far. Love the figure, but the Wave Crusher is kinda blah to me. I give it an 8 because I have to pay $10 for an eel.

I NEVER saw a 25th Eel on the shelf. So these are as close as I am going to get and to date are the ONLY things I have bought with the ROC banner on it. I gave the Figure a 9 and let the dog chew on the vehicle. Now I just need to get rid of the crap green paint apps.

Nice review VQ. I only saw 4 Eels at retail and they're the 4 that I have. This set's shelf-warming around here, which I find surprising. Meanwhile, the SE w/ bike's disappeared. I only picked up one to lead my squad. If they get clearanced I'll pick up a few more.

It's a great figure, I personally need 3 more. The thing I like about the ROC compared to the 25th is the paint job. The ROC look real like if the battle is being fought in our world and our time. I like the realism in collor then the 25th. Go Joe!!!

I have 3 and have been seeming them more and more. Ireally want to see the target exclusives wave 2. I really want a couple of snake armors. I also love the cobra claw pack, love the extra missiles. I just wish that avac would have been a better paint app, and i think he is about to come out next as the tru swamp-viper(but I only glanced at the pics from the con).
