So I was at the Dollar Store today and finally saw a knock off toy worth buying. They have a line of figures called "Fight Club" They are 3 3/4" tall Mixed Martial Arts fighters. The figures has a trademark by the same company that makes Homies toys. I don't follow any MMA or anything like that so I don't know if they are based on real people or not, but the back of the card claims they are fictional. There are 6 figures shown and a "file Card" like bio that you can cut out. I only saw 3 different figures at the store I went to:
"Jackhammer" Jackson Mauro "The Mauler" Marcus Kirill "Ursa Major" Kabulov I picked up Jackhammer. The articulation is ok. There are swivel shoulders single hinge elbows, swivel neck, swivel waist, v-cut swivel hips and single hinge knees. The upper torso is held together with one screw as is the waist. Now, if you want to pick up these figures, look closely at them, because these are very cheap. I picked up two of Jackhammer and the "good" one had a few flaws: Hinge Bars sticking out on one side of the joint The head is sculpted to have mutton chops, but only a mustache is painted The last two pictures are of the other figure I bought.....Let's call him "Gimpy" I saw in the package, that all the paint apps for his face (White for eyes, eyebrows, pupils and mustache) were painted on the side of his face! (And you thought Hasbro made bad paint apps ) After I got him out of the package I then noticed these flaws: Two Left legs (From the hip down!) The upper arms are backwards! (Just like one early 25th Joe ) These are cheap, but then again, they're only $1 and could possibly work for customizers or just as background people in a beach dio or as rivals for your custom Lionheart figure (You know you have one ) Last edited by Shogi; 08-31-2011 at 06:18 PM.. |

Ha!
I saw those! Gotta love how some have visible metal screws...or whatever sticking out of the joints, but the others managed to overcome that construction flaw. I got something worse! A bag of Mexican candy from an international grocery store with 2 3" army guys in it. They werr painted worse than Chap Mei figures, and one of them snapped about as easily as a thin hard pretzel. With minimum effort, I reduced him to a handful or pea-sized bits. I'm pretty concerned about what a choking hazard it is. |

I found these at my Dollar Tree! I don't know if you can use the bodies of these for customs (so damn cheap), they're a great source for cheap heads. I got a couple for that very reason! Really ugly faces, they'll make good 'Noks.
Really dodgy quality control (It's Dollar Tree, I know) the paint aps on the faces are hilariously hideous, lol

So bad that they're awesome! I especially like Dean "Thumper" Thompson. He looks like a blonde (or is it silver?) Abe Lincoln!

I picked them up for the heads. I had to look for a guy with the arms and legs going the right direction.
I pulled the head off of one and put it on a body that I had (some cheap Big Lots 3 pack figure that I didn't like the heads on). It made a nice neckless figure, not good enough to take pics of but good enough to be filler. I like the asian guy with the pony tail. He's got a nice head sculpt (relative to the price). |

WOW! Jackhammer's body with Heavy Duty's head would make the perfect Adabese custom! (from Oz)

The Gimp is hilarious. I'm going to have to check these out. They're at least good for a laugh.
