So I found the Battlefield playset at Big Lots today and decided I'd write up a review of it.
The World Peacekeepers Battle Field Playset is a pretty big playset (It better be for $30) The "Building" has two floors and multiple stair cases heading all the way up to the roof. By itself, it looks nice from the front but pretty empty from the back. The building is wide enough for two figures to stand side by side with a little room. Just like any other PTE set, there are a lot of accessories with this one. You get an ATV, Motorcycle, 2 Interlocking Sandbag Barricades, Barbed Wire Fence section, 6 Figures, 6 Guns, Mortar, Oil Drum, Gas Can, Backpack, 2 Boxes and a small Crate with 3 Mortar Shells. The playset works well with Joes and has a lot of detail, bullet holes, crumbling plaster, chipped bricks and cracked shutters. It comes with one shot up door that opens and closes. Like I said, the back looks pretty empty, but with the addition of some diorama accessories, you can get a good scene made up. Bad points: The rear wall section above the stairs is just as thin as the walls, but since it doesn't have the support of any side walls, it feels like it could break off after a little pressure. The width of the building is thinner than the "Battle Command Post" but since it's a full floor taller, I'm willing to forgive that. Over all, I'm very happy with this purchase and fully recommend this playset. Last edited by Shogi; 08-31-2011 at 06:18 PM.. |

Thanks for the detail pics. I really want this. I'm always looking for instant diorama material.

I picked one up yesterday as well. I am on the road this week and can't wait to get back home this weekend to start on my "Battle of Springfield" diorama!

I got one too. Haven't opened it yet. Serious lack of space. This is the first time our BL has ever gotten the larger sets and vehicles. They usually only get the small stuff.

I never see the big stuff at any of my local Big Lots. This looks really cool from the front, but not so good in the back. I don't know how it would fit into my Joe display except as a Hogan's Alley training area in the PIT.
