Walmart sent me a Retro Baroness in less than 24 hours from ordering online.
2009, 2020 2009, 2014, 2020 The Retro neck is unpainted. It's no big deal since you can't see the neck anyway. I like the Retro head on the 2009 body. Group shot Final impression: When I first saw this figure and the new improved face print technology, the following phrase came to mind: "It's like lipstick on a pig." After having her in hand, my opinion hasn't changed. Yes, the face print is better, but that head is not the best ME head we got. My preference is the 2013 SDCC Baroness head. That is where they failed. I'm ok with the reuse of the body though. If they are not going to make new parts, then at least they chose the best ME body for her. Again, it nice to see tags for GI Joe on retail shelves (too bad the figures are not on the shelves), but this figure was "good" in 2009; "meh" in 2014, and now she is just "whatever" in 2020.

Thanks for the review! Mine just got delivered today....wasn’t crazy about her in the package but hoping I get a little more enthusiastic once I open her and likely customize her a bit. Might do the swap you did and put the new head on the older body.

Thank you for the review!
I decided to pass on this version. My default ME Baroness is v13 from Rise of Cobra. |

It looks like the hair is attached correctly on your version. That's a big plus. Many of the pics and eBay listings show the hair too far back on the forehead. Maybe they fixed it in this second batch of Baronesses.

Didn't know the first offerings of this figure had misplaced hair? Thanks for pointing this out.

got my Baroness today and i noticed that the right arm was loose. after just lifting the right arm, this happens.
problem is my seller doesn't have an extra since his allocation was shaved/cut. i was trying to see if this new Joes were like the OG ones where they had a screw at the back for disassembly. Turns out there was none. Still trying to see how I can disassemble Baroness here to extract whatever part of the limb was left and repair it from there. Any of you may have had experience in disassembling a similar figure? Any idears would be appreciated. Cheers! |

Good review. I prefer the 50th one with the silver highlights.

That sucks man. If you have a 50th Baroness, just put that retro head on the 50th body. If you want to split the torso, here is a guide below. Don't know if you'll be able to get the shoulder disc back on though. Maybe if you drill a hole in each piece, insert a paperclip wire, and glue it back together. Might be easier to get another from WM. I think you can still order one from WM.

cheers mate, sorry for asking first then searching later. yes i did find the tutorial after posting this and i might give it a crack. i am considering piercing both ends with a superheated paperclip wire and let the plastic dry around it. i guess panic settled in first before doing anything rational. this is my first Joe after 20+ years so i did panic for ruining something i have been looking forward to.
