No. The Armored head's neck slot is to big. It will require manipulation to make it fit, as it's to big at the entry point. |

Usually Hasbro scans in the actors faces @ 360 & the computer generates the image & it's a machine-made sculpt. If an actual sculptor did the likenesses, based on pictures of the actors, the heads would have been much better in an overall likeness. Star Wars deals with this all the time, & hand crafted sculpted heads always look superior to the machine ones, & it's been stated that the actors liknesses for ROC where in fact, machine made. |

You sure you didn't mean 5 out of 10? ;)
Seriously, I don't like this figure. The facesculpt is pretty bland looking, and I'm kind of hating the blue/grey pajama camo look. If they ever decide to release these figures in green or green camo or otherwise more traditional colours, the score would go up a lot higher, but even then, the face would only give it a 7.5 or so.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Viper 48... pick her up!! ^_- DPrime, The high score comes from her flexibility & options, as well as being an improvement over most other female figures in the modern Joe line. I do not hate the ROC camo, but I too would like to see this figure repainted at some point in maybe green/woodland camo. Last edited by Steel Brigade; 07-16-2009 at 04:02 PM.. |

As someone who has 2 degrees in art, I'd like to clear something up.

Star Wars deals with this all the time, & hand crafted sculpted heads always look superior to the machine ones, & it's been stated that the actors liknesses for ROC where in fact, machine made. I always thought the computer scanning would make a better sculpt. However, I remember a few years ago some company came out with some WWF wrestling figures which were scanned off of the real person. The sculpts were terrible too. It seemed like the faces were elongated vertically to some degree. Do you know what causes this to happen? I thought maybe the proportion constraints was not checked on the 3D studiomax model and instead, they faces get distorted. The computer should be pretty darn accurate but it ends not looking too good. I was hoping since you said you had art degrees maybe you might have some knowledge of what happens with that process. Thanks!

Thanks! I am sure the process will be better in time. But as of right now, you are much better off having an actual artist do this type of work. |
