Resolute Comic Pack review (ShockBlast and Pilot Destro)
This is actually the first comic pack to sport the Resolute logo. Hasbro had promised us, the fans, resolute toys and here they are! Sure, the selection is meager at the moment but the show has yet to even air. I would imagine that Hasbro will capitalize on the fans ravenous appetites for toys based on this show. I know I personally can not wait for SDCC and Joe Con as I am almost positive we will see new offerings for the show. The one good thing I like about this is Hasbro is offering not only 1 resolute figure but a classic figure as well. This gives us a chance to fill in the holes within our collection. ShockBlast I never had ShockBlast (AKA Shockwave) as a kid; I was out of collecting Joes when this series hit the pegs. I was stocked when he was first announced as I have a strong interest in the figures I snubbed when I stopped collecting the original line. I do hope Hasbro looks at other figures from this era. ShockBlast does not sport just one head attire but three! We get the classic cap along with a helmet and gas mask. This makes since due to his profession. As a Joe SWAT trooper, he needs these items to help battle the evil forces of Cobra. He also comes with two pistols and a removable vest. The camouflage scheme looks quite sharp on him and I am satisfied with the paint application. The only issue I have is he needs something more than a few hand guns; he needs something with a little more power. Overall, I was pleased with the figure and he does sport a semi new sculpt, not 100% but new enough for most to accept him. Also this is what Shin pointed out and I am sure others will chime in on the parts used as well: Cobra Trooper arms, body; legs are from Matt Trakker, or Airborne. Pilot Destro This figure is unique to say the least. Do not get me wrong, he is a cool looking figure but he has limitations. I do like this incarnation of Destro and the color scheme is eye catching and the sculpt details are amazing. Take a close look at his head and you will see some sharp details. Hasbro did well with the overall sculpt and he does fit in with the rest of the figures. The one issue I have is his limited leg articulation due to his harness. The harness makes it difficult to pose him and I also had a difficult time trying to get him to sit in a vehicle. The wires do not limit his arm articulation and they can be removed if someone feels the urge to do so. Just remember, you have two different wire sizes. The chest piece is similar to the SS plate and looks sharp on Destro. I know I am partial to red so this works for me. He does come with a cool looking pistol and a removable back pack. He also comes with a communicator that basically sits near his neck so be careful, this piece can be lost with ease. Overall, this is a solid figure and a welcome addition to the Joe collection. |

The whole set was a 9 for me, but only because of destro, Shockwave for the most part was more then worth the set

my only complaint with both of the resolute packs is that Shockwave and Tunnle Rat don't have all of their original accessories (Uzi/BP and BP/flashlights). I like the Destro...it's better than a straight IG or original repaint. And the SS is nice as well.

Hey, his legs aren't from Trakker or Airborne. The uppers are from SnowJob or Wild Weasel, and the lowers are brand new sculpts.

These look cool! Never had ShockBlast nor Tunnel Rat so I am definitely looking forward to getting these comic packs. I just hope they can be found seeing as to as soon as they come out, they are gone and then you see them on evilbay. LoL Thanks for the review, Vaderquest.

I really liked both figures in the set.
The only two problems I had with ShockWave Was his arms and his head. His arms look a bit too thin for his body and his head is stuck looking up, unless force is applied. Destro Is solid for customs though. |

I like Shockwave but Destro just looks too dorky (in my opinion). I bought the comic pack but Destro will be going into a box first chance I get...

I just have one question...why does Shockwave's camo look like he's raiding the easter bunny's house? Cool figure great accessories, but if I saw this guy on the battlefield I would die laughing before he ever got a bullet near me.

And keep in mind Hasbro's idea of "urban camo": YOJOE.COM | Alley Viper I guess if everyone in the city is on an acid trip, these guys will just blend in. . . |
