From File Card: "Psyche Out got his degree in psychology from Berkeley. He work on various research project involving the inducement of paranoia with low frequency radio waves. Posted at Fort Bragg's Deceptive Warfare Center Psyche Out continues his work in wave induced behavior modification."
Psyche Out is one of the members in this year's Nocturnal Fire Convention set and boy what a surprise it was to see that we were getting an Modern Era Psyche Out to add to our Collections. Psyche Out is basically a repainted Duke ver.43, a base figure that many have used on their customs of the Joes psychologist. I liked that The GIJCC didn't go for a complete 'copy' of the '87 Psyche Out. I always pictured him in a lab working on his research or in an office counseling Joes. So the short sleeves works for me. But the gem of this figure is the head sculpt. A head sculpt that turned out perfect. Every detail that went into this head sculpt screams Psyche Out. From the hair parted down the middle to the headset with antenna. Maybe it's me, but I love the tired look on him. You can tell he's been working many late hours at his lab. Psyche isn't loaded with a lot of accessories (compared to others in the set). He comes with all he needs to do his job and complete the mission. I got to give it to The GIJCC for imagination and creativity on parts used. He comes with Recondo v7's backpack and solar panels that worked out perfect for what he does. The sonic generator is made from Airtight v3's gas chromatograph. And when he's got to get down and dirty out in the field he's supplied with both a pistol and rifle from Lifeline v7. Lets not forget the 3 ECM dishes. Overall Night Force Psyche Out is a pretty darn cool figure. Many might not like that he is just a repainted PoC Duke, but the head sculpt alone is worth the figure. He also fills in another slot of a character that Hasbro would have never released. I've read on the boards on how many of you hope GIJCC releases a Pysche Out in his traditional colors. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. I would rather they use a slot on another character that Hasbro will never release. And the Night Force colors are so much better than the bright day glow green.

This is one of those cases where the modern version far outshines the original.

I need to pick up an extra head for the "young Lobot" custom I've been working on.

Unless figures like this are released not as some convention exclusives, I will maintain that they simply don't exist.

I like how the Club and I came up with the same idea for the handheld scanner thing.
