Python Crimson Guard is the exact same sculpt we saw way back in Wave 5. No changes were made and none were needed (Well except for the pistol holster, but I've come to live with it) The paint job is exactly like the original Python Patrol Crimson Guard from 1989. For all the Python Patrol fans, this figure is just for you. Python Crimson Guard comes with Rifle, Pistol, Backpack and Cobra Stand

i wish they'd swapped out the holster for one that the pistol seats in better. i'm a TF/PP mark, so even though PPCG is ugly as sin, i still like him but i just need 1.

I love CGs and have more than I should, but this is one of the few 25th figs I am sure I will pass on.

I wish it had a removable helmet. I only plan to get a few of these.

Hey, cool if you like Python Patrol, but when I think of Cobra vs. GI Joe in the real world, there's no call for the super-villain color scheme that PP sports. I know Wave 12 is a "bonus collector wave" but this guy shouldn't have been a single-carded figure, IMHO. I just hope that wave 12 doesn't clog the pegs after the new year, especially when it seems that Wave 10 was lost during all the revision releases.

I got mine from HTS yesterday, and for some reason I like the crazy colors. Hopefully I'll find another on the pegs in the future, and hopefully regular pp troops come out at some point.
Wave 10 has started hitting targets around here this last week so I bet it starts showing up more nationwide this month. |

I've never liked the vast majority of repaints and subsets. Always veiwed them as really cheap marketing ploy to get more money out of their customers. Even in the Marvel GI JOE Comics the introduction of this team felt very forced. I know there are a lot of fans of repaints, especially the PG line and I'm glad they're doing this for them, but I would have rather had a new figure than more PG repaints.

I really wish the whole PP was a multi-pack. Just get it all over with in one fell swoop. If they end up releasing a multi-pack of the same figures they wasted a single-card slot on, I won't be buying it.
I also love the Crimson Guard. Didn't get the Desert one, because they're called Crimson Guard. At least the Desert one makes sense and blends in at least. This one? Shouldn't they be called the Neon-Tartan Guard? |
