The Desert-Viper is a surprisingly cool figure from the RoC line. He's not quite up there with some of the more recent Army Builders but I certainly think he's the best of the nanomite Vipers. That Figures: REVIEW: GI Joe Rise of Cobra - Desert Battle Desert-Viper

Another great review. I picked him up the first time I saw it at Marshalls for 4 bucks. Solid figure with a good amount of weapons, I'd recommend him highly especially at under 5 bucks.

Agreed. He's just not as superb as some of the PoC Army Builders but he's still definitely a very, very good figure.

For an evironmental trooper, I think he is excellent. I bought him at Marshalls as well, same trip where I bought his Arctic counterpart Ice-Viper! (Who also is an excellent environmental troop figure.)
Only problem I have is storing all the gear. That and I don't have a Dusty to pose him with. The only Dusty I have is the v.4 one where he is not in desert gear.

Nice review. This guy is what made me re-assess my no more RoC figures rule after buying waves 1 & 2 and being VERY unhappy with the quality of the figures. I was really hoping we would of seen him re-released in PoC seeing as he's prominantly displayed on the HISS Tank boxart so we could have had him with a decent stand but alas, it was not to be.
Looking at your review pics I can't help but wonder what kind of ignorant S.O.B. placed that price sticker on your Desert Viper. Must of been somebody part of the anti-MOC movement. Jerk!

And it's from Marshall's - I'm lucky the box hadn't been ripped open by some kid who wanted to play with him in the toy department. Which we all know is a code word for ''free daycare with toys'' to ignorant parents.

Well yes. Snake Eyes was really kick ass, but even back then it was really a Resolute figure to me, not RoC. Actually after buying most of that last wave I found that really RoC wasn't all that bad once you got past the first two waves, which was all I could find anywhere......well, except the Neo-Viper mold that got re-used again and again, that wasn't so good.

I don't know, I dug the Neo-Viper from the start. Just opened one last night to drive my Lava Pod. Time to go breach the Pit.
But yeah. later on ROC got some really nice figures. CS Duke is another excellent figure, as is Jungle Ripcord.
