Refer to this comparison picture to see the differences between a 4” scale Modern Era figure (the Cobra Trooper on the right) and a proposed 4” scale “Sigma-style” figure (the Dusty figure on the left).

As I recall, kids loved the Sigma Six line. It was collectors who were not too keen on it.
I liked it. I like some others did not like the cartoon, although 90 percent of the art was fantastic. I liked the uniforms and would like to see a few of those designs like Lt. Stone, Jinx, Scarlett, Duke, SkyBat, in a modern 4 inch line. Interpretations that is. The actual design of Sigma Six may not mix well. A diorama/display of all Sigma Six figures would look great. A diorama/display of a mixture would look a bit off. If GIJOE was to go Sigma Six? I would prefer to see it in scale with Transformers Rescue Bots or other Imaginext, Playskool figures that are in that same vein. The simpler blockier design aesthetics would fit in well in that environment.

I would love a Sigma 6 4" line, but the actual design, probably not. If the Sigma 6 Shockwave is released, I hope he'll have black hair instead of blonde.

Probably, but not with the disproportionate body parts.

I would not love it if it was so clunky looking. If it really could grab the kiddies I would love to see it, but I would never buy it for myself. I enjoyed the cartoons but there was way too many commercials. I remember walking away during a commercial break and completely forgot what I was watching. More than once.

Not for me. I support the idea of an animated line with tie-ins, but please keep realistic looking figures. Otherwise I have precisely zero interest.

I think the “unrealistic” Sigma proportions have certain advantages over the “realism” of Modern Era. For one, they just have a more “toy” vibe, a rugged grab-and-play aspect which ME lacks.
There is the durability factor. They are just thicker, which would help negate some of the problems of the softer plastic being used on Joes today. The oversized feet give the figures fantastic stability, no problem standing, at least judging by the 8” figures. And big hands for solidly gripping big fun accessories. Plus, the big mitts just add to the overall rough n tumble, rugged aesthetic. As I’ve said before: Realism is overrated. At least in toys. Give the exaggerated proportions a chance, they have a purpose, they aren’t just arbitrary. And I don’t think a Sigma-style 4” line would preclude a continued 4” Modern Era-style line, at least not ultimately. Get the more kid-oriented line going strong, and the collector-oriented line (ME) could probably ride on the coat-tails.
