Actually, to be more accurate, the Sigma Six cartoon was seemingly designed to support both scales, using vehicles and character designs from the aborted Robot Rebellion line AND supporting the new thematic concepts from the 8" line. By the time 2.5 came about, the theme was moving into "series 2" with a focus on new vehicle concepts in support of the new 2.5" scale
The "Sigma Six" version of the RoCC, while the same vehicle as the DTC release, DID come with a 2.5" Long Range figure (a repack from the 2.5 Night Ops Vamp) and I think MIGHT have had a few new stickers. Being a TRU exclusive, I don't think Hasbro paid too much mind to the scale inconsistencies given how prominent the vehicle was in the cartoon (and at least from the outside, was more "to scale" with 2.5" vehicles than it had been to 3.75 vehicles) Thanks Steevy!
