I loved the Sigma 6 8" figures. I think it'd be interesting to release some of their designs in the 3/4" scale. Like Maybe Scarlett, Kamakura, Jinx, Heavy Duty, Long Range, Lt Stone, Sigma Firefly, and the Ninja BATS.

I remember seeing S6 at retail, and i wasnt into joes at that time, but i was like Hasbro WTF are you doing here?
The figures was to cartoony/He-mannish for my taste and plus i was so use to the vintage Joes anyway and i wouldnt bought S6 toys if my life depended on it. But now, 25th has come and gone and now the figures are getting better with every release. As far as this Ultimate solder that someone keeps talking about, are we sure its not Super Trooper or Capt Gridiron? Just throwing that out there. |

If you were not in your early childhood or in your nostalgic adolescence you would not know why these toys were so great. I was about 14-15 when these came out and I absolutely loved them. They were based on the cartoon that was out concurrrently. Yes, they were great, yes, I purchased most of the line for myself. To you they may not have been so great, but to me and my little sister, they were amazing toys. Of course, once 25th hit, I bought those too, being a joe fanatic, I just buy whatever has GI Joe stamped on the package. Sigma 6 was integral to my little sister's fanaticism of GI Joe as well. If ARAH inspired you (or whichever), Sigma 6 inspired me in the same way. It's the same way I view ARAH, How can someone LOVE SERPENTOR and hate RoC? Both can be seen as garbage to our parents, so why berate one more than the other? I love RoC, Retaliation, Sigma 6, and the Myriad of Joe junk from the 90's like fluorescent joes and Extreme GI Joe. All stuff that I grew up with.
I did not like the line at all as I was dedicated to the 4inch scale. But you make a really good point here. S6 for a LOT of people was perfect to get "younger" as in not already adult people into joe. That is pretty good about S6! |
