Couldn't stand the overly stylized look, the anime craze of the time, the stupidity of the cartoon (it was worse than pokemon), Tunnel Rat eating bugs, the inane dialogue and lazy story telling and voice acting.
As far as the figures once again overly stylized/anime thing going on, the size of the things. They were ultimately a cheap attempt to cash in on a craze at the time and the fact that they lasted less than 2 years proves the lines lack of credibility.

Did the 25th lack credibility?

Sigma 6 may not have fit into the view that many collectors have of G.I. Joe, but they were fantastic toys. Extremely well articulated, intricate (and functional) accessories, and compared to prices today, they were damned affordable. A nice mixture of great cloth and plastic accessories, and many of the design aesthetics that so many collectors are in love with today were born from Sigma 6.
That perfect combination of science fiction and military that everyone seemed to love with Pursuit of Cobra first really made its genesis with the 8" Sigma 6 line. Even if you don't like the animated styling and you disagree with the scale of the toys, I think it's pretty tough to argue that these weren't very well made, exceedingly well designed and fun (GASP!) toys. The reason I will always love S6 is that it got me back into collecting Joes. I stopped in high school and didn't pick up another Joe until Sigmas came out. That started me back into the hobby and since then I have gotten back to the regular joes and picked up a few ARAH figs I missed. |

Well said. Sigma was replaced by 1:18 scale but they also replaced them as well. It just cracks me up when a lot of people talk about how great the 25th line was when it replaced Sigma. Duke couldn't even sit the fuck down! That's progress? At least the ARAH figs could sit. Since then H has done amazing things and I am happy with what is being produced. Sigmas were hands down better toys than many of the 25th line. Not seeing Sigmas as Joes is a personal preference but good toys should be acknowledged.

Odinson, yes there is a Ultimate Soldier/ Super Soldier figure.
I know what I am talking about. Like I said, I wish Hasbro would have spent all that time a few years ago making a couple more extra 25th anniversary figures like Super Soldier and a couple more of the Cobra La figures instead of the crap job called Sigma Six. I never liked the Sigma Six figures when they first came out. All they ever did was clog up the aisles. They were too big and they kept having those stupid foot lockers |

That never happened with Sigma Six. With it's style and approach nothing was built off of them. There are no plans to go back to them. So Yes no credibility when it comes to sales or longevity. That is all the hair splitting I'll do. Just as 1:18 fans had to accept that their scale was put on "hiatus" when it happened. Sigma Six fans have to accept that the style and approach they liked didn't catch on. 1:18 scale fans will I'm sure have to see their preferred figures put on hiatus again in the near future for something else...probably kreo's.

If hasbro hadn't made sigma six figures, maybe we could have had a 25th captain mihn like we all hoped.

C'mon dude your splitting hairs. Style and approach of 25th still going on 1:18th scale. Been improving on quality, sculpt, etc since the initial launch (yes they can sit now) but still essentially 25th modeled figures. Sales of 25th blasted past anything done by Sigma Six. 25th was in fact so successful that Hasbro had to throw a 2nd wave together of repaints.
