I definitely think there were some interesting characters/designs in Sigma 6. Overall I much prefer the current 25th/modern/Resolute line, but Sigma 6 did have some appeal. And I definitely have to throw it out there - I don't get the venom directed at Resolute above. I think that line is off to a great start and the animation looks great!

you must really hate the side-switching Storm Shadow character, too, then. or are you simply opposed to the concept of a double agent?

To me, Firefly is the deadliest commando who lived; .'Revenge of Cobra'. variant. I even made Firefly into a hero, in my Justice League Universe.
Firefly could nuke Snake Eyes without breaking a sweat, I respect Snake Eye(s) character too much to do that; however. Sigma 6 is Ok, Real American Hero; the real deal. I didn't like the Sigma Six Firefly. though. |

Sigma 6 was an abomination and I'm glad it's dead.

I only saw one episode and a little kid was being chased by a robot for half an hour. I think the figures were kinda goofy looking, directed at a younger fan base. I bought a SS/SE 2 pack and used them for customs. I do respect them for trying to take the line in a new direction.

WOW.
Sigma 6 was a story line written for kids... so it wasn't intended on having the adult appeal that Resolute and the movie "should" have. I agree it was the lamest animated form of G.I. Joe... but it introduced us into the most durable and kid-friendly playable Joe toyline that ever existed. Plus it had the most kick-ass packaging ever. and lots of versions of Snake Eyes. ;)

as simple as it is, sigma was a fair concept crashed on the air strip with the paultry need for name recognition... if the main man was named Mirage.... if they threw it in among the Eco-DEF-Battle Corps days it would have been pure win. So call Fire Fly Inferno make the entire thing a bridge to Extreme which is the weakest Joe link in many circles. Someone out there likes the idea of Rocky Balboa, Sam Walton and Roddy Piper among the Joes, others see no problem with a pirate with a parrot, a lippy pacifist, blatant insubordination and no uniform dress code to be elite... oh and to a vast majority these are toys and comics and cartoons we are entirely too old to be stalking the toy eisles like a pedo following a pair of maryjanes...

Sigma 6 was cool. The cartoon was good at times, as pointed out above Cobra Commander was actually a Bad Mo-Fo!
There are at least 6 figures from that line that will demand huge amounts of money in the future. Mark my words.
