I was looking at my sigma 6 collection sitting there blinking away and I could not help but wonder how long the lights will blink for. More important is the fact that one day the AA batteries that are sitting above all those figures may start to leak. Now that I start to think about it, putting those lights in the Commandos may have been a really bad idea. Even if the batteries do not leak, after a while the chemicals in the batteries may start to fade the paint and rot any cloth material inside the sealed containers.
Anybody else think about this yet?

I never really thought about it but you make a good point.

I think Hasbro (or General Hawk) said that considering they have two AAs powering a single LED light, the things should last for several months, at least as long as the average retail cycle for a figure wave. I'm not sure if they'll effect the figures as all of mine were packed behind the backers, wiht cardboard between the batteries and figures proper.

So I finally opened a flashing light figure and tried to use the battery for my tv remote, but there was not enough power for it to work.
So I got to wonder how long the light was been flashing... |

LOL...I found they aren't the strongest batteries also.
I think I will find a use for the red lights though...got a custom project I am working on and I'm sure I can incorporate them into it...possibly in a control panel for something.

I would not be surprised if some of the lights blink for years. I've had one for 8 months that is still blinking. I think I've had another for 1 year that is still blinking. Yeah, it will probably damage the package when the batteries corrode. |

I never thought about the battery leakage but I looked into my bins and some of the ones I bought in 2006 are still blinking... Some have started to fade but you can tell there is a little light showing.
