Boy oh boy did I ever have a week. I wanted to have time maybe in the afternoon on tuesday or thursday to do one figure but no way not this week. Anyhow, I have not been posting as I go today, more so just hitting all of Wave 1 of 2006 and here they all are all at once.
I was alarmed and shocked at my limited supply on Long Range ! I only had like 2 spare figures! Did they make a better Bad Ass in the line? Well, for Joes side anyhow, he wins. Redundant character or not , this is a fantastic set up for Snake Eyes. I love everything about it The brats lost his helmet. Spring chest feature still works! He just screams BOSS doesnt he? Skybat all intact! Ill have to dig out my Skybat army when im done with the collection, almost seems empty only posing one. Shouri Crossbow Dragon Tattoo Storm Shadow I like the red gauntlets because they seem to match better with the color scheme of the figure. But , both sets are on the figure. I found a way to tuck them in the back |

Man, I had something close to twenty Sky B.A.T.s at one time.
Also, those gauntlets on SS are just begging to be utilized in a Shredder custom. |

What a busy week! Theres a good reason it has taken me this long to get to my toys because I work too Goddamn much!
I got started on these guys this last weekend and I just finished yesterday and I had a little bit of free time at the end of my day. This morning I'm waiting to get into the job site and discovered that my phone is very useful for posting pictures so here goes. Wave 2 2006 ! Ah Jetwing Duke. Great design , great gear. I wish I had more of him! Not to be out done by a Duke Variant , Heavy Duty hits a home run in what we all call FlamerDuty ! I love that mask Up next is Firefly. His mask is cool but his face sculpt is imo iconic to the toyline. A key figure in the line. I dont think Desert Long Range got many good reviews but I like the getup. Good gear, opens the door for desert themed customs. Last of the wave is Night ops Snake Eyes, but looks like I forgot to take a solo pic so ill get that up later today. In the meantime heres the group shots Last edited by MrBlitzer; 03-03-2017 at 12:08 PM.. |

Desert Long Range worked great as-is or as a base for Dusty customs.

Jetwing Duke is an awesome figure and bloody hard to find here in Canada. Flamethrower Heavy Duty is beyond fearsome! Keep those pics coming Mr. Blitzer.

Yknow part of doing this is a bit of research as well. I want to go in order. So When I started checking out Wave 3 2006...I think this is where Sigmas started to fail. July 2006 Hasbro went all in it seems. But they screwed up. They Forced out 4 different Dukes in a huge wave of recasts. With a total of 10 Releases , only 2 were new characters , and only 1 of those 2 new characters was Cobra.
I mean in retrospect, I love the entire line, but as a collector mostly post line , I couldnt imagine being excited if I was up to date when the line was new. 4 dukes , 4 recasts, 2 new characters in the biggest month of the line? Thats retail of $150 for the 10 that released that month in 2006. Sounds cheap next to todays toy prices but that was high for that time. Anyhow - enough rant. lets dig into the wave! |
