Had another look at the Joe Colton prototype. How could they have denied us the Sigma 6 Gorilla?

Groundblast Heavy Duty was released in decent numbers; it briefly sold for more than a hundred dollars on eBay before plummeting to rates cheaper than retail.
Only a handful of Dustys were released; Justin Bell reviewed one as part of his special Sigma 6 retrospective: Sigma 6 Celebration Day 7: Adventure Team Dusty Review | Generals Joes - A blog about the importance (or unimportance) of little plastic men As far as we know, Nemesis Kidd bought the only Short-Fuze in existence, and it kills me inside; he's my all-time holy grail, for sure. Figures we believe exist only as samples: Wrecking Ball: Iron Fist: Zanzibar: Scarlett: Joe Colton: Wet Suit: Short-Fuze: And since I still have the photo in the same album where all the above are located, and because I believe in sharing the awesome as well as the pain, here's a kickass Sigma 6 Mutt custom from JBL (I've regrettably forgotten the name of the guy who made it): |

Wow. Thanks, Monte Williams. Those are a treat for the eyes. Nice pics of the unproduced prototypes.
I wondered about Dusty and Heavy Duty. How did Justin Bell come by his Short Fuze? Nice custom at the end. A while ago I saw some customs by a guy who made famous video game characters as a commission for a Playstation magazine, there was a great Gordon Freeman as I recall. It may have been Jin Saotome, or it may not. Last edited by hotmitts; 12-28-2011 at 06:08 PM.. |

This is the Overkill you were talking about earlier. Never shown off to the public at any show like the rest of the unproduced figures. |

Jin Saotome's Sigma customs are truly works of art.

Here's the thread: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-revealed.html As you can see, they've reused some of his accessories for Rise of Cobra Laser Artillery Tripwire and Renegades Tunnel Rat. Thanks, Roshan, I forgot to address the question of Overkill. No one knew anything abut him until... I believe it was last year's JoeCon. His legs would have been removable so that you could hang him up in creepy robot fashion. |

More bits and pieces.
Found one picture of the Overkill with his hangar. Great toy idea! Also a sketch for a Dog handler figure which looks very cool. The Mech suit pictures were shown in a prototype page, they're clearly made from Lego Bionicle bits. Perhaps very early toy design ideas? Or somebodies custom. Good idea actually... More pre-production sketches from Dynamo Development Labs. These sketches remind me a little of the Borderlands game artwork. They look like early ideas for Sigma 6 characters from the hints of chest articulation. Last edited by hotmitts; 12-29-2011 at 07:11 PM.. |
