Thanks to the help of some Tankers and a great sale by Colder Soldier I finally got my 1st Sigma 6 Joe, and....I LOVE IT!!
Now I'm not sure if I'll go over the deep end with S6 but I rememberd wanting this, never got it and thought it would be cool to add it to my collection. After messing with this thing I have NO IDEA how these sets didnt single handedly bring back the O.G. A.T. fans, some ARAH fans and most importantly...KIDS!! You get a fan favorite ARAH character in Sigma 6 likeness, in an Adventure Team gimmick and "atmosphere".....what about this package, hell even the way it's packaged isn't a total win!!! I have no idea how the line didn't survive longer. I would love to see these come out as anniverary sets or exclusives....could you imagine Croc-Master getting the same love and attention as this? Mutt and Junkyard, Spearhead and Max?.........Wow, this set kills me. I know I'm late to the game but I find this an absolutely flawless toy and a huge head nod from Hasrbo to all eras of Joe and it's fans. Last edited by PitViper; 04-24-2011 at 05:23 PM.. |

The line was never givin a chance. The price point was high too.I've payed between 8-20$ at retail for these things.Once it lost the Sigma banner and went A real american hero,AT sets it,just when it was getting good,it got canned. Most collectors hated them, until like you said. You played with it.The peg-port system was awsome,it had a very Centurion feel to it.One of the best joe toy lines in the last 10 years.

Right on man. I had no idea that this was an ARAH/AT thing.
I saw my favorite character ever under that banner and pretty much crapped myself in disbelief. I wish they would do some kind of exclusive or something to get a few more of these flying arounf. |

I worked at Walmart when these things first hit, and I've never seen a GI Joe product (that wasn't collector based and shorted like 25th) move as fast as those did. And not to scalpers and collectors, but KIDS!
They sold so well that by October (about a month after we started getting them) our distribution center was completely cleaned out of them, and we couldn't get more for Christmas. Adventure Team was my biggest lament when stores ditched the 8" line. While I don't regret 25th (and still think it was a good move for the brand), I still believe that Adventure Team SHOULD and COULD have continued, and that the Joe brand could have supported it, and it could have easily EXPANDED the brand's awareness.

They were kid tough too. They had the playablity of the 25ths and solidness of a brick, they were impossable to break.
Sigma 6=playablity,not displayabilty. they take up a lot of shelf space,i can only dispaly a couple at a time. |

What character did you receive? I have had my eyes on that Toxic Zartan for some time. Just wondering.... Sigma 6 style Joes for ROC would have been cooler than 12 inch or the weird 8 inch figures, the force battler style figures?

I was always on the fence with Sigma Six and never bought any - if I bought one I would have had to buy them all. The Adventure Team ones were top of the list - I had SS and SE in my hands so many times and always wound up putting them down. I may need to go hunt on ebay.

Yeah when the brand was adventuring (pardon the pun) into the Adventure Team stuff it could have been incredible. Especially with the mix of classic Joe characters being added in. But alas, it was not meant to be.
Too bad really. Not that I don't like the 25th, but it was a shame we had to have "one or the other". |

Maybe if Hasbro is really going to release some stuff for the 30 ani. maybe they will throw some of those unreleased Sigmas in the mix.
