Regarding a meet up of Arizona tankers:

It seems like a few of us are willing to make this happen. All we have to do is select a day an a location. Maybe we can each offer up a place and we can let majority rule the first meet place.

This weekend, Saturday or Sunday would work for me. 10 or 10:30 AM?

I live in Surprise, but have no problem driving across town to hang. The shopping areas off of the I-10 and Ray road is a place where my car club has organized in the past but it is not the shadiest of places (no trees).

I am open to suggestions on locations and times-my schedule, for once, is pretty flexible this weekend.


The last part of this is we should probably get a AZ Meet specific thread posted so we can all go there without hijacking the Sightings thread. Where should we put it?

as far as meeting day....doesn't it make more sense to meet up right after wave 10 hits? That way we'd all have new stuff to trade/sell to each other. I suggest the weekend immediately following the wave 10 release. I'm guessing that release will happen this Sunday morning, so NEXT weekend might be a good time to meet.

Thanks for clarifying, cuz I honestly thought you meant we'd meet up in some crappy drug-dealing hood to swap Joes and you'd be wearing a trench coat and hat whispering "Hey! Pssst! I got GI Joes, wanna swap?" and open your coat to have like a dozen joes hanging from the inside of your coat.

I just wanted to help mobilize some local members so we can get together.
Whatever everyone wants to do in regard to date and location is fine by me.

Waiting an extra week may give members time to browse each others have/want lists in order to set up the trades before arriving (none of us want to truck an inordinate amount of Joe stuff around the Valley with us).

On a personal note, this weekend is better for me because I will be out of town next weekend. If anyone wants to trade for anything on my list, I will still be willing to meet them this weekend.

That would pretty much nail the ppl's reaction at the Burger King Doc's buddy and I met up at. He made the comment that he feels like he's doing a drug deal and I said it was only fitting because I feel like I'm buying porn when I'm in the toy aisle (a sentiment shared w/ Stygian a while back).

I'm down for a general meet-up, and I usually have to have about a week ahead of time to clear my schedule. Chances are good that I have the wrong mental image of everybody when I speak to them...a correction I always strive to make.

I doubt I’d be able to come to any meetings for the next couple months, have some stuff going on that’s going to be keeping me traveling in and out of state quite a bit for a few weeks at least.

But if you guys did start doing semi regular meeting - I’d be interested in attending some in the future - I live just a little south of Tucson so I might also be able to drag some other people from down this way (Tucson, Sahuarita, Pima county area) along with me too if anyone wanted to go ( and if they wanted to pitch in a little in for gas money ;) )
