This is kind of off the subject but does anybody else remember Lionels Playworld? Back when they were around there was no need for a sitings forum. They had such a huge gi joe display that there is no way you wouldn't find what you were looking for. Where I lived in mesa there was a lionels and a TRU across the street from eachother and TRU was joke compared to them, wish they were still around.

We had a huge one on Grant and Swan here in Tucson, that is now a Bed, Bath and Beyond (I believe). That is where I bought my first Nintendo, and yep, the Joe aisles were ALWAYS full.

I grew up overseas. There was one toy store to service all of us Army brats. They dedicated about four pegs to figures and whatever fit in the space on the shelves for vehicles. There were no delivery schedules. No picking from pallets. The place closed right at 5pm. To make it worse, we lived off base. We were about a year behind on toys. Then again, we had one English channel and it didn't play toy commercials. Instead, we were warned of suspicious mail and leaving property unattended.

About once or twice a year, my father would have to come back to the States. He would record me a week's worth of cartoons (GI Joe, Mask, D&D), but my favorite part was the Joe toy commercials in between.

Little did I know my childhood was the training grounds for the deplorable conditions 25 years later.

On another note, I went back to my local SuperWalMart (Baseline & Stapley in Mesa) and they have about 3 each of the new Vamp and Black Dragon. A couple 12" figures (honestly, we can expect those at ROSS/TJ Maxx/Marshalls for sure at this rate) as well.

The funny thing was that there were about 4 pegs for G.I. Joes... and all of them were empty. Not even Arctic Destro. I guess it will be interesting to check back every so often to see if they've restocked.

Fry's on Ajo and 12th has the 2 for 3 special, and has 1 Trooper, 1 Viper, and 1 IG for $7.99 each. Damnit. I did not need the IG. $16.00 for these 3.

Hey Guys! I'm in south west Tucson. I am excited to see Joes on the pegs lately at Walmart, but I am not a big fan of the Renegades figs. I think I may buy a couple of Dukes but nothing more. Should I buy the Black Dragon? I already have two Vamps and I am itching for a Joe fix. Is the Black Dragon as cool as it looks in online reviews?

Hey FNG, SW Tucson here as well. I actually picked up the last VTOL from our Valencia Walmart 3 weeks back. Did they restock?

I wish I could give you advice, but I haven't opened it yet. The pics look outstanding!

Awhile back someone posted that they saw 25th Joe's at tjmax, I went and checked it out tonight and they weren't kidding. They had a ton for 3.99 a piece. I picked up ninja viper, python crimson guard, cobra diver, mutt and junkyard, and cobra trooper. I couldn't pass them up on that price.
