Thanks to Wes for reinforcing my Shock Trooper ranks. I think I'm pretty much done with them now.
I'm glad to read that folks are finding Vipers and the like... Stores around here are pretty much bare for Joes. Fortunately, I went with a BBTS order. Anyway, what are your all's thoughts on the new Viper? Wes and I talked it over Friday and I think we're both a little bit underwhelmed with him. And I think it's all in the hands. Complain all you want to about the old Viper's wrists, at least he can hold his gun properly... |

Maybe they will be fixed in the HoH II sets ![]() Other than that, I really like this figure

to me he seems more like a corrected 25th figure than something new. I would have liked a new take on the vest, backpack, and rifle. They'reall classic and look great, but he's not really going to stand out from any of my other vipers. Also miss the red on the gauntlets.

Seems like they really wanted to make him as cool as they could; modernizing him and giving him full wrist movement, yet keeping the same vintage flavor that everyone likes. But the problem is the Jungle Viper hands were not designed with the original Viper weapon in mind, so the grip doesn't want to stay. It's just too big. Rather than retool the hands or guns, they just left it and hoped for the best.

That's the other thing I noticed on the figure. And I really don't like trimming painted plastic to make things fit. Ultimately, you have to lean the gun over too much to make him sight down the barrel. Guess they went with the Gansta Viper.
I, too, miss the red gauntlets. Puckman, and maybe we'll find a "gold variant" of the HoH II in discount chains once they've had time to age in a warehouse. |

After hearing of your success, Wes, I went to Lexington to try my luck. Found four of the nonvariant MU X-Men sets paint was pretty rough on them though.
Also found the latest wave of Lego Minifigs, looked to be fresh cases. Managed to find a few of the HazMat figures. |
