I love the retro 5 POA figures. I looked around at 3 Targets for some and they hadn't been stocked yet.
They remind me so much of the vintage Kenner figures. They are a sore spot and a source of disgust by a majority of the SW collecting community. They see it as a regression, even though the 3.75" Black Series has some great, new super articulated figures coming out. The Black Series is for the collectors. I'm actually interested in the 5 POA just for the nostgalia of it.

Troy, try explaining that to the hardcore collectors, especially those not old enough to have played with Kenner or even the POTF2 figures. Then others are just plain toy snobs and can't handle a basic figure with a family friendly price point.
I fought that fight on the RS boards and while some have come around, most are still posting negative comments rather than leaving it to us Kenner enthusiasts. Joe fans seem the most grounded. While many on this forum start inane threads with bad titles, poor grammar, and poorly articulated viewpoints, it's better than the self-important know it alls on other toy forums. Perhaps it's the fact that there is no one definitive version of GI Joe so we're accepting of change. |

Love that Mara, Shae wasn't as bad 'in-hand' but certainly wasn't great, and Star Wars collectors are the worst. Everything's a contest and there's no interest in agreeing to disagree. OT fans hate PT fans, and they both scoff at EU fans. The way I see it, we're all geeks that buy little plastic men to fill some void left from growing up. Why can't we all just get along?

Every few years it regenerates and looks completely different, but it's still the same thing we've always loved.

Mara Jade is a carry over into the Black Series 3.75" Wave 3. This wave is fraking spectacular. Looks like I'm getting a Mara Jade with out much effort as this whole case is a keeper.

A favorite actor of mine died recently, Dennis Farina 69 died of cancer.
Most folks know him from law & order, but my favorite role of his is Nick Gazzara mobster turned states evidence in the movie Romeo is Bleeding. In this scene, he is in police custody, and Gary Oldman is a dirty cop scoping him out to rat on him to the mob for a huge bag of money. R.I.P Dennis.

I think that's true though I have no idea. Recently imdb says its been a few movies and Law&Order. Work tapered as lung cancer increased.
At least we still have Wilfred Brimley.

The MU 3 packs are clearance for 17.49 at Target, grabbed Avengers and Inhumans. That's less than 6 bucks a fig. It's like it's 2007 all over.
