I've been wondering- does the Carbonite block that comes with the Slave 1 actually include a Han figure inside it or elsewhere? Or is it just the accessory? It says "Han Solo in Carbonite FIGURE", which makes me suspicious.

hey Beam or any other SW collectors out there,...just in case you wanted one, the vintage Boxed Slave One is on sale at Amazon for $30 off. I just grabbed mine and the Tie Interceptor
Amazon.com: Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back Slave I Boba Fett's Spaceship Vehicle: Toys & Games @ Air-tight: It is just a block of carbonite - no removable figure. At least that's my understanding. |

Both of you guys are right (Beam & Air Tight) Hasbro doesn't want to spend the money as the profit their making back on the 3 3/4 inch line isn't where they would like it to be..
Sad that they can't get a great marketing team.. The upper management needs to go. But that is almost in every company. Gone is the expression "You need to spend money to make money" They think they can make cheap shit and people will buy it for kids. How the hell are no articulation figures going to hold a kids attention span? They grow up in the age of tech now.. Dumb asses at Hasbro!

Sad to here the MU news, it was a great line. As far as gi joe goes I will again say (as stated in previous post) that I have heard from a friend at Hasbro that the lines future is uncertain at best. Rumours around his office are that they may be moving focus to the smaller Kreos line. That with an up coming cartoon in the works a new direction for an overhauled line seems inevitable. Now this is not to cause any panic just a friendly heads up on some concerning here say. I have loved this brand for as long as I could hold a figure as I am sure that most of us tankers have. We have seen many incarnations of the brand some were good others were not. For those who are not into the kreos line as I am not, Consider this a time to catch up on some loose ends until the next great update on our favorite real American Hero's!

That said there are a lot of people that know people that work at Hasbro. I'll give you that the future may be questionable at this point but you don't fire your entire team that works on a brand unless your on hiatus. Also there are many people that hang out at Joecon that have very close ties with higher ups and right now the line is pretty much dead.. If they go in a new direction I doubot it will be 3 3/4 they might do the marvel legend 6" size which a lot of people want to see.. not me in particualr... Were also lucky to even get the Kwinn wave and the Jinx wave if that makes it to retail.

Lol. I agree. As stated this is heresay. My friend has been with Hasbro going on 13 yrs and has never steered me wrong. That being said he does not work on the gi joe line. However he does work with a few genuine fans who do, work on the line and are concerned.
I personal have been pushing towards a 6 in line since prior to hasbro even acquiring the marvel legends from toy biz. This to me seemed like an awesome Idea I began badgering him about this since the mid 2000s. The detail & articulation of figures this size can't be beat. However all of my pleas have been dismissed thus far. But maybe with the SW black figures there's a chance. Again IDk just wishful thinking. Just not personally a kreo fan. Although I'd rather not see the line just disappear. Quote:

The prodigal son has returned! Shadow Ninja is back in action.
The only thing I'll add to the "line is dead!" conversation is not to forget that Retaliation has been greenlit for a sequel, and I'm sure that will bring more toys (maybe not for a few more years, but still...). I'm one of the few that really doesn't care if Joe goes on haitus. I don't have an addicting urge to buy something every other day, and would gladly take 2-3 years off from buying joes to either A) catch up on things I still want to track down, B) Customize and make some new figures with all the wonderful new parts we have out there, and C) Just enjoy what I already have! We've been so busy buying and collecting that we haven't taken the time to sit down and handle these things and actually appreciate them. maybe I'm alone in that regard but I welcome a break. My wallet (and my wife) would appreciate it too. G.I.Joe will never completely go away. I hear all the arguments about "kids don't play with toys anymore" etc etc, and I know there's some merit to those issues, but ARAH has been around for 32 years and even though it's not what it was in say, 1985 or 1986, I think it'll always be here to some extent. Times change and there's only so much we can control; just enjoy what we have for the moment.

I also think Hasbro is putting more effort in other scales than 3.75". Hasbro seems to love the 6" size based on what's coming out and whats been revealed so far at SDCC. Quote:

I'm dipping into NECA and 6" Star Wars so a lull in Joe, poor assortments in the SW 3.75" line and rebranding of the MU line into less articulation figures helps me to divert funds to my new interests. |

Did I mention Power Ranger Gokaiger keys.. No more Joes but now I have to hunt keys...lol... I know you guys are going to say "Power Rangers suck"...lol Oh and a new Legacy Dragonzord and Legacy Dragon Dagger....awesome.. Did I mention I had to buy the SDCC 24kt Gold plated morpher... Other than that it is disappointing that Hasbro lets the "Suits" DICKtate (yes I know it's the wrong spelling..lol) what gets released and what doesn't. I have never been a huge Kwinn lover but come on they couldn't have released that when they showed him.. "It didn't fit in".....BS I say they let people that are genuine run the line stay away from the 12" in retail go to a 6" and keep the 3 3/4 to 2-3 waves a year and decent vehicles not the bogus crap they have been pushing out (minus the Skystriker and Tomahawk A++++). They say ythey listen but it doesn't really seem so.. Lastly....lol Your right about that Air Tight that the movie will have figures.. They can't release any movie without having toys..lol
