not all that excited for the SDCC this year. I want the Jetfire and Baroness with Ravage, but Hound looks like shit. I really don't need another Snake Eyes, and how the hell does Bludgeon make any sense? and no single pack figures? Really disappointed. Anyone else think Hasbro just doesn't care anymore?

So a friend of mine is in a highish position in one of the departments.
He told me that three dudes in his department went to higher ups with concerns and advice, not unlike things that we say all the time.
Management told them to mind their own beeswax, they said everything is going exactly how they want it to.
So two of the three pushed a little further stating concerns for g.i.joe, SW, and marvel.
They were told if they keep on this they'll be fired.
The two pushed harder thinking hasbro management was bluffing.

They were fired last week.

Nobody who works there is willing to say shit about it cause they have families to provide for, and it's not worth losing the job over.

He told me, "you better believe they know what's wrong with the lines, they know how to fix them, they know about vipers kingdom and happyeverydaysales, they know talented people live close and could get the lines back on track. They do not give one shit cause other lines out gross the ones we like, and the profit margin losses can be compensated by lay offs."

This lines up with what I've heard too. Either do it Hasbro's way or take the highway. They eventually pulled the same shit on Kenner's employees when they took over and now they're doing the same to their own employees. I wonder if this is why Aaron left after most of his team got canned or jumped ship during the recent mass layoffs.

It wouldn't surprise me if a company like Mattel swoops in and tries to grab folks that left or were let go. Play the good guy, grab former employees, and make their top rival look even worse.

Every week I hear of more people let go or canned from the big H. They made such a big deal about that new building of theirs in downtown Providence, but now they're cutting folks left and right.

Marvel Universe is dying and Hasbro has always seemed to favor it's big brother Marvel Legends, Star Wars is hibernating, and any movie figures are shit. The saving grace is GI Joe ... for now.

Speaking of GI Joe, my Cover Girl has already shipped.
