Well I can now scratch Puck off the need list, just picked him up, TRU is runnign a $7.49 sale on MU, had a $5 coupon from Tru, also picked up Black Widow from the light up set

I'm a DC man through and through. Supes is still one of my favorite characters, and it breaks my heart to think that Hasbro (via Kenner) had the DC license and never gave it the treatment Marvel is now receiving. MU is such a tease for a guy that only read Superman, Batman, and JL. Should have read more Marvel...

Marvel brought me back to collecting and customizing, my first fig was the awesome World War Hulk, I had just got back into reading his book, and saw that fig after reading that arc and had to have it, and now I can't stop buying figs for MU & Joes...but still really only read Hulk, did decide to give the new Joe reboot a go, 3 issues in and not too bad

I grew up watching the DC cartoons (BTAS, STAS, BB, JL, JLU, Max Fleischer Superman, etc.) and I still watch them to this day. I loved watching their action unfold, more so than the movies (which often change things(usually not for the better), and represent some characters poorly), and I like them much more than the comics (which can be limited by how far they could express motions and interactions). In film, you can show an event all uncut, not broken apart by panels. With comics, you can depict the action, process, and result of something, but you cannot show the entire event uncut.

I was never a big comic person. Do I have comic books? Sure, but not much. Under 50 books tops. I was more into going to a bookstore like Borders or Barnes & Noble, grabbing a collection off the shelf and reading through that. Or I would read through the editions of the big DK superhero books to see how each hero's story evolved over the decades. This was before Wikipedia, so that was my "cliff notes" on Comic Books.

The same applies to Marvel.

But growing up, you eventually realize that most comic heroes do nothing but get reinvented, resurrected, again and again because it's not stories anymore, it's a business. That's when the magic goes away. I think that's why I liked the shows more than the comics they come from. They actually had an ending or ended on an open note which left the story's future up to our own imagination.
