Yes it is.

BBTS is my source for all Retaliation figures. I'll be saving countless hours hunting. I've still been looking but the assortments are such that I can get every figure and have very few repeats. It's not toy related but I scored the Sounds of Star Wars Hardcover at Smithfield Barnes and Noble for $13 on the discount table near the registers. Cover price is $60. Great book for hardcore fans. Anyway, I love finding stuff at a deep discount. |

It would be perfect for me if the Night Viper were in there instead of one of the movie "ultimate" figures such as Duke, Flint, Roadblock, or Firefly. Either way, I will just order a case.

Just got an email from BBTS about Dollar General Joes Wave 1. They're selling complete sets and singles.
GI Joe 2013 Basic Series 01 - Set of 6 - GI Joe 2010 - 2013 GI Joe 3.75" Figures http://www.entertainmentearth.com/pr...A#.USQfxmfEYX8 Any chance this is the wave 2 repaints and they're using the wave 1 photos because none exist of wave 2? If this was wave 1, wouldn't they have them sooner than April (EE) or June (BBTS)? EDIT: I re-read the email and EE says they aren't sure if they will be the first series or the "variants" (ie repaints) so I think I'll just go ahead and order them through BBTS. I'm tempted to preorder a case to find out. What's another $35 after dropping $114 on a case, $43 on the new 3-packs, as well as the Marauders BBTS set when it was on sale. EDIT #2: BBTS dropped the price to $31.99, to match EE's pricing. I ordered a case and got an email notifiying me of the price drop. Last edited by BEAM; 02-20-2013 at 12:23 PM.. |

Finally got ahold of some new Retaliation figures last night. Stopped by Walpole Walmart and found the entire case of 12; picked up Dark Ninja, Alley Viper, Cyber Ninja, and even the green Firefly. Wasn't interested in any of the others, although that Roadblock does look fantastic- I may have to think about that one. Joe Colton and Lady Jaye looked slightly better than I had expected but their bizarre eyes made them look like morphine addicts.
Alley Viper is a pure winner, I absolutely love this version of him. I dare say he may even rival the esteemed POC Wave 1 Alley Viper. The paint job and choice of parts are just awesome. Dark ninja is a great figure too- as FastDraw said, he is exactly Renegades Storm Shadow. Cyber Ninja is pretty decent, better than I expected. Firefly is interesting but it's a shame that he's missing wrist, double knee and ankle articulation. I took the Blast Board out of the package and it doesn't even light up! I even unscrewed it and checked the batteries and it still won't work. I'll try to recover from this depressing blow and move on with my life. The thing that interests me the most about these figures is the obvious relatively last-minute changes they made to all of them based on the photos on the back of the card and the illustrations in the instruction sheets. Alley Viper was originally meant to have a 25th AV head, no vest, different legs, and according to the instructions, the alternate black goggles helmet. Dark Ninja was originally meant to have an alternate POC arctic SS head and different swords/accessories, Cyber Ninja was originally meant to have a wraith head, etc. It seems like someone at Hasbro was either smart enough to update these figures or was listening to fan feedback, as they've evolved since their initial prototype appearance not long ago. Also stopped into Worcester Walmart, where it appears I may have competition. All of the case was there minus DN, AV, CN, Colton and LJ. Also saw plenty of ripsaws, fang boats, awe strikers etc at both Walmarts.

I'm not sure why, but I just don't get the whole Joe Colton hype. Am I the only one? Everybody is clamoring for him, but really—why? It has to be just because it's Bruce Willis. I suppose that's valid and I understand that, but he doesn't seem to fit in anywhere in my collection so I guess I don't need him. The figure honestly looks pretty lackluster in person, like a bald bum in a t-shirt with a few cool guns and a wacky oversized wave 1 Duke missile launcher. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I look at it this way: Go back for a moment to oh, say Pursuit of Cobra wave 3 or 4. Imagine seeing fantastic detailed sculpts like Ultimate Snake eyes, shock trooper, low-light, Shadow Tracker, or moneybags Destro, and then imagine that Joe Colton on the pegs with them. Don't you think he'd look plain, sloppy and out of place? But anyway, I begrudge no one their Joe Colton and I do hope everyone who wants one finds one. I guess he's just not for me. In fairness, POC had its dull figures as well. Maybe if I were a Retaliation completionist I would feel differently.

The CYber Ninja, Colton & Battle Kata Roadblock are all pretty sweet figures, I actually lucked out and found a COlton w/o the cross eyes, Lady Jaye is pretty cool as well but her face is meh, but her gear is great, sweet paint apps on her rifles. Oh and COlton is not a bad fig, just missing gear, he is essentially POC Recondo torso w/Jungle Duke's legs w/Bruce's head

Eh. I don't care for the new AV. Wave 1 Duke torso, lack of gear, the wrong type of web gear, and the colors don't do anything for me. 25th, PoC, and the gray one that came with the Rage/Fury are superior IMHO. I have enough AVs so I've passed on him. I did find a Colton today without crossed-eyes, so I grabbed him. I missed one at another store.
