Well the club strikes again with the TF subscription. That's delayed till April/May.... I'm going to say May..lol
At that rate they should just ship all 6 figures to the TF collectors and BBTS. You have to wait 3 months for six figures... Good Grief. At least they get theirs in bags like we should instead of carded and getting raped for MOSC. With all the programs out there now it's not hard to make custom cards and seal the loose figures to them!

They still haven't made an updated Dash Rendar. But somehow we got the black dude with the ice cream maker. The fuck?
Rumor on the web is that Hasbro is killing their 3&3/4 scale lines (less articulation, less paint, less detail) so that the scale caters strictly to kids and they are forcing anything else considered to be "collector" level into the 6 inch scale(Marvel Legends, Star Wars) so they can justify charging us $20+ per figure. Rather than have us bitch and moan about a $12 Avengers toy, they'll try and get another $8 out of us for a larger, more articulated, more detailed figure. But at $20 a pop, they better match NECA's $18 level of quality or else folks will be calling them out on their $20+ figures. My biggest concern is that even though the MSRP is $20, retailers will try to charge even more for these and customers/collectors will be scared away. Let's just hope Joe stays at the scale it's in. Otherwise, I'm done and will finish getting 25th-30th stuff I missed. |

I don't think Joe will go to a 6" scale, however I never thought Star Wars would go there either. The good news for SW is the 3.75" "vintage style" figures will continue. That tells me same character selection and level of articulation. I think Joe would follow suit if a 6" line is introduced. 4" scale is too closely associated to the brand to abandon completely.
MU and movie tie ins are a different story. It looks like Hasbro has already made a move to less arcticulated 4" figures. I dredd what that line will become when Avengers 2 comes out. I love the new 6" Star Wars line. I'll be more selective of the characters I buy but the sculpt and articulation on Luke is great. I think we'll see Target and Walmart carry them for the suggested 19.99 price point but TRU and online retailers will probably jack them up to $21.99 or higher. Hasbro has made a conscious efforts with it's new vehicles to price under $20 at retail. |

Q: What are the estimated shipping costs for the TCC Figure Subscription Service?
A: The FSS is figured for where you live, but to give you an idea from TX to NY for one sub is about $59 total for all six shipments which breaks down to just under $10 per shipment.

Back to vintage collecting I'd a go. It would be one of those points in your collecting hobby where you can cut the cord cleanly. No interest in that scale and there won't be one or two random figures popping up, so you could say done. I did this with comic books. The summer the final issue of Blackest Night came out. All DC and Marvel events wrapped up, I was able to walk into the comic shop cancel my sub without any hanging treads.

I think these new 6 inch SW figs are interesting. I would love to see a similar line done for Joes. Either way I would not feel obligated to buy every one just the ones I like. I've been able to keep my Star Wars collection to mostly vintage figs. I think the last SW toy I bought was an Ep I Droid Dekar for the fire blasts and energy shield.
I am going to enjoy the break in 4 inch fig collecting. It's getting a little crazy. If everyone here in the MA sightings thread has as many toys as I have, i think we could all use a break in collecting. I just wish the economy was a little better so I could get rid of a lot of my stuff for a decent price.

I don't thin the economy will ever bounce back too much has changed and as history has taught us all great nations come to an end. The power house nation now is China. We could have a whole discussion on here what lead to the state were in and where were going but I'm sure people would not be happy about that. I see a lot of these sellers trying to get ridiculous prices for Joe stuff and the market isn't there for it anymore.. I personally am dumping stuff now. I have learned that things ten to drop even more over time. Had a lot of SW stuff that was fetching $$$ and fell drastically and isn't worth crap now. Sold a compete Flagg for $400 to a friend so I wouldn't have to bother paying ebay fees and having to ship it. I sold my unused Flagg for $1200 last year. Back in 2010 I had originally sold it for $2500 but they guy was a shady buyer so ebay told me I should cancel the auction with him as they had view his emails.. So in 2 year time it dropped by half and now is about the same price sometimes even lower!
