Seriously...all this time and it's the first I've heard of it too.
I did some digging on the web and it seems they may be legit. I'm talking a website, Facebook, and some type of "official" charter from the actual club. It seemed to me that these guys focus on 12" stuff. I'm going to call the head guy later today. Hell, if they're the real deal, I could easily fill 4-6 tables with product...new and old. (But 3 3/4 stuff) I'm really hoping someone here has some info on them though. Quote:
Never heard of it. You'd think we might have actually heard something about it here on HT, ha!
Troynos and I have been working for a while on starting an actual legitimate NE joe Collector's group though, it's still in the works but we are looking forward to getting it off the ground pretty soon and hopefully getting the regulars around here in on it. Details forthcoming... |

Found a New England Comics after I got detoured by a God Damn Santa Parade and low and behold they had a Variant Blastsar and Professor X figure. 15 bucks a wack, still cheaper than E Bay. I still feel like Professor X is going to be a hard find at retail because we all want him for that suit. Grabbed the Special Mission reprint for 5 bucks too. Pleasant surprise!

I don't really buy MU or black carded Star Wars stuff like you guys do, so have at it. I only buy certain characters (Venom, Thanos, General Grievous, Durge, Boba Fett), and that's only if I can find their figures or if their figures are fun enough to buy in the first place (there's been plenty of disappointing Venom figures over the years).

Hi Everyone,
The NEGIJCC is a legimate collectors club and is regonized by the GI Joe Collectors Club. We had to meet certain criteria before getting recognition, which we have done. The club was started back in March and has approx 30 members, 25 or so from the NE area. Meetings are held on the last Sunday of each month at the Roots Cafe in Providence. Very easy to get to off 95. Yes, we are mostly 12" collectors, but there are a few that collect both scales. Any GI Joe collector, no matter what size, is more than welcome to attend. Its all about GI Joe. You can visit the website for more information (Home - New England GI Joe Collectors Club). If it is something your interested in, you can register. Any questions, I will be happy to answer them or you can call the number on the website. We hope to make the New England Chapter of the GI Joe Collectors Club the biggest and best. Phil |

Anyone collect HALO figures. Rite Aid had them stocked in their Christmas section. There were a few sets, they looked like 6" figures. They had a 3 pack and a couple of single packs with interchangeable helmets and hands.

Well this is odd news, just read that Bridge Direct posted that Wave 2 of the Hobbit figures will release next summer. So we will get 4-5 Dwarves a year for the trilogy.
Guess this explains why there wasn't any front of the store displays at TRU.

I'm going to make the trek down there tomorrow and setup a few tables. Hey it can't hurt right? I'll be bringing a Flagg, Mobile Command Center, some vintage stuff, a shit ton of ROC, a ton of POC, and a bunch of Retaliation stuff. (Pretty much every single figure from each of those lines) Anyway...if anyone's around come down and check it out. |
