We're all living life! It's not like there is anything to be looking for anyway.

My brother and his friend went because they help out there. As far as vendors go, he said to his surprise, it was mostly posters and despite Stan Lee being there, there wasn't much of a comic book presence. He said toy selection was small an nothing like last year. Many items were overpriced and items he had seen last year were now more expensive. Since he was helping with the raffle for Kevin's painting and the Wounded Warrior Project, he got to meet pretty much every guest (except for Stan) and talked with them for a while. He had Larry Kenny sign his unpunched moc Silverhawks Bluegrass figure. Said Larry was such a nice guy and was soo happy to be able to sign something that wasn't Thundercats. Don't get me wrong, he has nothing against Thundercats, it's just that most folks ask him to autograph Lion-O stuff all the time. He was overjoyed to actually meet someone who liked Silverhawks over Thundercats and as they chatted, he talked using the Bluegrass voice because times like this don't come often. As far as Stan Lee goes, he said by 3:30, the line was still out the door and into the parking lot. As far as crowds go, he said the place was packed to the gills (and I thought last year was crowded for Stewart). So that's pretty much it from what I gathered.

Went to Supermegafest today and picked up a bagged Mission Brazil set for $450... talked him down from $500. He offered me the MB Water Moccasin for $100 but I didn't pull the trigger. I definitely would have if it was the stinger. Other than that.... for toys the selection was surprisingly thin.

David Prowse ($45), Deep Roy ($30) and Rusty Goffe ($25) drained my bank roll. Happy to get everyone and add them to my Star Wars collection but it was a pricier day than expected.
Rusty was the highlight of the bunch. Very personable, and he and Tanaka seemed to have struck up a friendship. My friend got a photo with Rusty, Tanaka, and Eugene for the bubble. And Kevin Sorbo was slutting with some of the TNA knockouts. Lucky him. Plus i got to see WWE Maria Kanellis's thong and ass through a shear dress when she came around her table for a photo with my friend. I found the toy selection alright but definitely overpriced compared to previous years. Everything Walking Dead was 2-3 times it's retail value. Someone had 2 Sentinels for $45 (down from $50). There were some obvious TJ Maxx raiders who bought stuff then jacked up the price. Overall it was a decent show as I've come to expect from SMF but the high autograph prices didn't allow me to grab anything else. Last edited by BEAM; 11-18-2012 at 04:04 PM.. |

I was at SMF on Sat. Got in line just after 10:30. Didn't get to the show room floor till after 12pm. To say that the Sheridan was packed is an understatement. I was there for Art and vintage stuff. I did check out MU when I saw it. The had vendor tables overflowing into the hallway on the way in. The show room floors were so tight you could only walk in one direction and the show room floor was split between several rooms which just added to the chaos. I saw plenty of toys but nothing priced right. The only problem was that most were the same toys from RI Comic Con.
I was able to hang with artist Paul Ryan again and get some art from him. I also traded in some art with Anthony Snider for an amazing John Romita Jr X-Men page. I got Kevin Sorbo's autograph for the GF. We took a lunch break and hit up TRU and I got the FF doom sm pack and a Kang. Overall I had a good day. There was this chick dressed up as a female DKR Bane with Batman that was breathtaking as well as a few other hotties including a cute female Jedi with her father as a Jedi Master. At least it better have been her father. On a side note, do the guys that spend the entire convention chatting up the porn stars and wrestling chicks realize how creepy they are? I am always surprised at the kind of people I see at these things. I want to know what they do in the real world. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cool, love to get to that stuff when I can. Hard to believe at 60 bucks a pop Stan'd line was out the door. Everyone freaking about the MU wave got me worried so I grabbed a set with paper bag Spidey for 106 shipped. Buyers regret now but at least I'm not driving around looking for them with all the crazies for the holidays. Going to get a new TV and mount it, was going to get a PS3 or Xbox, any preferences out there?

Plus except for a few titles, the game selection is fairly similar, is it not? |

I prefer PS3. No subscribtion to online play, PS3 doubles as a blu-ray and if you subscribe to netflix streaming, it's already installed. Between an HD antenna, Netflix streaming and some torrent downloading that I can play through a USB drive in the PS3, I have given up on cable. Plus except for a few titles, the game selection is fairly similar, is it not?

Wait a sec, aren't you able to just swap out the hard drive on the ps3 and put in one with more space?
