Who thinks the Retaliation toys are gonna get scalped to hell by people who then try to sell them on eBay for rediculois prices?
I mean, March!?!? Why not August? Do they really have to refilm scenes? I thought they filmed it two ways so they could either have Duke live or die? And does his fate have to be so crucial? What if instead of making us think he's dead, they just have Cobra capture him? The road to this film's eventual release is going to be a strange one filled with uncertainties and more questions than answers. I would love to hear from someone on the inside about just what the hell is going on.

well bbts has most of the wave 1 stuff in stock now on the site and the wave 2 stuff still listed for the 28th. i cant imagine that they would hold the movie stuff since most of the 1st 2 waves are probably good to go. why take it off shelves and get no money out of it?

I didn't hear anything about refilming scenes. They were scoring the movie. That's one of the final stages of production. I think 3D conversion is a red herring because Paramount is scared of what's coming after Retaliation. The Avengers showed that a comic movie's pimp hand is strong. It will make all other movies it's bitch. Spider-man opens the following weekend and Batman opens two weeks after that. If Retaliation had the gap in competition given to the Avengers I think Paramount would have gone full steam ahead. But two strong franchise characters taking up a majority of the screens is bad news for GI Joe. This way, it will have March all to itself and will own that month.
If the movie truly sucked and Paramount had no confidence in it, they'd place it in February. That month is a suckhole of suck. Few quality films have ever come out in February. Take the top 25 from the all time February opening weekends and tell me you have any of those on DVD. I have Daredevil and that's it. And even that was a turkey (it was slightly redeemed by the Director's Cur) See for yourself: Top February Opening Weekends at the Box Office |

I think Spiderman opens July 3 the Tuesday after Retaliation. They wouldn't evev get a possible two weeks of possible #1 box office receipts. With Batman end of July, Hasbro is probably betting it will destroy everything through August.
It got bumped back with Hansel & grettle witch hunter. Another Jeremy Renner movie where he is running around with a bow and arrow
