I don't go out of my way, but whenever I'm going anywhere I'll hit any store that's on the destination route that may have joes. If I find one cool. If not, when Renegades aren't on the shelf, I'll pay the ebay price. And I'll open it.

Me either. Sometimes in my travels I'm an hour away so I hit stores I've never hit. Just has to be on the destination route or the stores close to work or home that only take 20 minutes out of my day to walk in and out of.

It's not worth it in general anymore. With gas at an average of $3.75 and driving around you waste 3 gallons of gas you waste $11.25 on gas plus another $11-$12 with tax for a fig for a total of $22-$23 It's just not worth going out hunting anymore and better just to order online now or buy on ebay. The math doesn't lie. If you happen to bounce in a store and find one great but to go out of your way looking you might as well forget it now a days...

Anyway, I'll never go there again. Larry- see you Saturday! Quote:
I think they've just learned from waves of various toy lines that their warehouse is overflowing with the versions of "main" characters. All those Bumblebee and Iron Man figures take up real estate.
They've fallen in line with the independent online retailers. People want those hard to find figures, they will buy a set to get them. I'm guessing, being affiliated with Hasbro, they can't mark up and sell the rare figures like Smalljoes can, so they went with the set only policy. It's a pretty simple concept: Hasbro releases the storm shadow figure. For whatever reason, either cost or dwinding popularity in recent years or some other reason, they short-pack him. While Hasbro seems to have cut costs with accessories on some of the other 30th/renegades figures, they definitely kept 90% of SS's goodies, and basically made him 2-figures-in-one on top of that. The main reason everyone wants him though, is because he's rare- the fact that he's a fantastic action figure (a fact I can personally attest to) only makes him even more desirable. I bet if it was "library-viper" or "hotdog-viper", people would want him just as badly. Take those "unreleased POC variant blowtorch and croc-master" figures. Those would probably peg-warm like an arctic destro I they were all over the place. It seems to be that the concept of 'getting something exclusive' that generally appeals to a lot of people. The whole "I have to buy a case just to get SS?" theory is just more brilliance on hasbro's/online retailers' parts too, they're getting us to pay $80-90 for a bulk amount of their product just to get one SS. When we're "stuck with figures we don't want", there's always the option to return them to retail or trade them or whatever.
