Well I think the Salomon Pond Mall one is still there, in Marlborough, unless that the one you mean. I think I may actually check out a few stores myself, later on today |

Nope, I meant the one in Auburn in the mall across from the TRU. I would have quoted you before, but I was posting with my ereader and it would have been a pain to cut the quote down to just the part about Toy Vault. I was really sorry to see them go since I live in Springfield and that was their only location that I had any chance of getting out to.

Hey Joes, just learning to drive a HissTank here.
Glad to see there's a MA spotting list, that's awesome, but it doesn't look like there's anybody from central MA except me, so let me introduce myself to this thread properly: Wal-Mart in Oxford pretty much sucks, i was there recently. As does the Wal-Mart is West Boylston, except even more in my experience. They never had anything during the 25th series. (I suspect a "poacher" lives in the area actually lol) The new Super-Wal-Mart in Millbury i've been to recently and they have an average selection, though I'm only interested in non-o-ring and non-25th figures for parts, and I was there on errands, so I didn't look at the selection. The Targets in and around Worcester were always my favorite places to snag good figures. The Toy R Us in Auburn used to have a good selection of 25th figures, but i haven't been back there in forever. Keep in mind I hate everything that isn't Joe, so I never look at SW or MU figures or even TF for that matter. I'm hardcore oldschool ha. Has anyone mentioned or noticed that Price Chopper and I think Shaws also often carry at least a peg's worth of Joes? I think they may switch it up with MU figures too. There is a ToyVault in the Greendale Mall in Auburn, and I believe it's still there. They have Joes, of course. There's also a ToyVault in the Salomon Pond Mall in Marlborough, I believe, and that's a bigger store than the Auburn one. They have a good selection and individual filecards too. Also, there's That's Entertainment in Worcester, but there's customers who've already reserved EVERY CG, IG, etc. that ever enters that store, so that option is out. Still decent last time I looked, though it's been a while. I used to do a Newbury Comics (for a time, they sold 25th Joes too) circuit in Central MA with a friend of mine, and occasionally check out a Toyr R Us in Natick or something too, but that's been a while. Let me also add, I don't collect anything but G.I. Joe figures, the original o-ring kind and the 25th only, everything I will hulk smash for custom parts, so I have no problem picking up a MU or SW figure for trading. If I got a Shock trooper i'd smash it cuz it's not "real" to me lol, so instead I could just use that to trade for something else I want, so whatever, as long as it's a good trade. I also collect ARAH comics. I also collect Rage cards, which is a CCG (Collectible/Customizeable Card Game) from White Wolf Studios/Publishing based on their table-top RPG, Werewolf: the Apocalypse. Speaking of which, I also collect original World of Darkness books from White Wolf, including Vampire: the Masquerade and Werewolf mentioned above. Don't get me wrong though, even though I only collect a few things, I'm a super-dork about it , so I should fit in lol. I regularly scour the central MA and Natick/Framingham areas as well, although I haven’t been as active lately since things have gotten dry. I just wanted to respectfully make a few corrections to your post and clarify it a bit for anyone else that may be referencing it (one of which HomerSapien already mentioned): • Most Shaw’s don't carry Joes, but Stop & Shop has a few. (Not sure about Price Chopper) • The Greendale Mall is in Worcester, not Auburn. The Auburn Mall is in Auburn. (who would have thought!?) • There is no Toy Vault at either the Greendale Mall or the Auburn Mall. There was one at the Auburn Mall from late 2009 until July of 2010, when it closed. The inventory was split and sent to their Warwick Mall store in Warwick, RI and their Emerald Square Mall store in Attleboro, MA. I know the owners and do business/trade with them regularly. • There is not and has never been a Toy Vault in the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlboro. Perhaps you were thinking of the Emerald Square Mall in Attleboro? That’s at the other end of the state though down towards Providence, RI. • Newbury Comics has yet to carry and Pursuit Of Cobra figures, but they did have some 25th stuff when it was released years ago. • That’s Entertainment is a hit or miss. Typical territory for a decent comic book store. I’m a little confused as to what type of joes exactly you collect- at one point, you say: Quote:
...so what exactly do you collect? In any case, welcome to our community and feel free to ask any questions if you’re looking for anything. Most of us (myself included) have connections, and plenty of things for sale or trade. Last edited by Air-tight; 05-24-2011 at 08:45 PM.. |

Newbury Comics at the Providence Place Mall has had PoC. I've seen moneybags Destro there for $11.99.

Touché FD! I stand corrected, I actually saw a Destro there myself as well and completely forgot. However, unless anyone else has spotted POC at their Newbury Comics, that store seems to be the exception. I have not seen them anywhere else at NC stores in my area.

Yea, I haven't seen them either.
I did see 25th wave 1 vehicles at Shaw's twice. Around Christmas 2009 I believe. They were ridiculously overpriced and they never had single card figures. |

Interesting- that was random. They probably got ahold of them in hopes to sell some Christmas impulse items. Most shaw's don't even have a toy section like Stop & Shop does.

The Shaws in Cambridge carries POC, there was a Jungle Viper and Tornado Snake Eyes on the pegs. I never thought to check earlier, not to mention Shaws stinks usually anyways. There's been nothing new around Boston for quite some time now for Joe/MU stuff. Keep running into cases of Thor and Cap stuff. Blah.

I collect and KEEP O-ring Joes and 25th Anniversay Joes pretty much exclusively. Those are my babies, that's what I like. I MEANT to say say everything ELSE I will use for parts. I am interested in other "compatible" action figures, but only to pop their guts out and frankenstein them. I used to love customizing Joes, and a couple years ago I customized and fully painted one using oldschool peices and felt like I was sinning. But I just feel so damned proud of myself I want to keep on keepin on. Now that I know 25th, PoC, RoC, SW, MU and Indiana Jones figures can be mixed and matched with a little work, I want to start customizing "newschool" figures. This means I want to start looking for figures that I will only use peices of. I got a list of 10 or so guys I would like to one day make myself, not counting "my own versions" of existing figures I would like to do... so I'm gonna need parts. And like I said, I'll have no problem popping open a non-25th or nonoriginal figure. So far, I know I want to redo my custom oldschool as a custom newschool. So I'll need: Crimson Guard head Battle Armor CC torso (maybe top and bottom) Iron Grenadier arms Darklon waist/stomach Darklon legs Gnawgahyde's wrist-mounted blade |

Other places to scour that might lead to good luck. New england comics usually has nothing but once and a while will have a figure or 2. they have sever stores outside of boston.
