Missed the post on the expo in this space. Was there one? I see a bunch of you are headed to Novi is it worth going for the GI Joes or do you have to be in to the other stuff?

I will be at Novi and will be bringing Joe stuff. I usually don't move much joe stuff but have a few items with boxes that I am going to try and sell. From what I have seen you can find some good joe stuff but the hard part is its pretty pricey to sell there so its hard to really give good deals on stuff.

Went to show yesterday, I have to say the promoters had a golden oportunity to make it one of the most epic and biggest ever but mucked it up renting the same space as every year. With Stan Lee and norman Reedus as their biggest guests ever the crowd was insane, normally a 5-10 minute drive to get in the parking lot in the past was a 40 minute wait in traffic from exit to parking lot. then a line that if we had every person stand in single file would have easily reached 3 miles (it completly wrapped around the entire building, then down around the furthest permiter of the parking lot and back up to the front, at one point I think a distance of 100 yards was between the beginning and the end of the lines. after another 1hr 30 minute wait out in line we got in to the most congested packed convention I have ever seen. lines for the food 40 people deep, line for Norman Reedus 50-60 deep. and forget seeing Stan unless you wanted to spent your a good part of your time at the con in line as they didnt set a limit on items to get signed so some guys were going up there with a stack of comics. I felt if they rented out the entire convention hall, lowered the cost of dealers to set up tables they easily could have made alot more money, I saw people leaving the line one after the other and at $25.00 a pop they gave up during my time watching and waiting at least a few thousand dollars in admission. With big names like that they should have expected a bigger draw. regardless my son and I spent time together, enjoyed the rest of con as always, bought some stuff, saw some old friends got pics with cool cosplay costumes. in the end worht the drive and wait to spend a little more time with my 18 yr old before he starts his college and busy life but would have really liked to have gotten him his moment to meet Stan Lee. I will still attend Novi every year, I just wanted to vent, thanks guys. And if I didnt get to meet you at con Im sorry but if you went you undderstand, as it was so congested you could have walked right past your own mother and not seen her at times.

Wow! Kinda glad I didn't go. Crowds that large make me nervous, unless there's alcohol involved lol.

As a vendor there I did not have to deal with the crazy lines (except for food and bathrooms) but was sad to hear that so many people had a rough time getting into the show. I was able to make a few joe fans happy as I sold a sky striker with box, Rattler with box and Hydra foil with box. Here is a link to the promoters apology as well as plans to improve it next year.

Yea I saw the write up in the Detroit Free Press, crazy numbers for attendance like some 18 thousand just on Saturday and 30 thousand total for the three days, they usually just get 18 for the three day event. WOW that's just insane!!!
