After all these posts with nothing new, here's some good news for the Lansing folks! Just stopped in the Lake Lansing Walmart & they had a case of wave 3. I took the 2 Techno Vipers, but through strong will power, I'm not collecting the Renegades line, and left all the rest.
At 4:30, there were 2 Cobra Vipers, 1 Scarlett, 1 Tunnel Rat, 1 Ripcord & 1 Storm Shadow (plus plenty of wave 2). Didn't see any Crimson HISStanks (are those TRU exclusives?). Hopefully this means we'll start seeing wave 3 around here more soon! And as a side note; I'm not trying to be critical of any particular person here, but while I understand the frustration for Michigan being way back on the supply chain, and for stores being unpredictable in their stocking patterns, the picture some members paint of what Joe hunting is like in other states isn't true based on my experiences. I live in MI for school, but go home to TX regularly and visit my girlfriend in Chicago all the time. I frequently hit up stores in those states throughout the year, and, yes, Houston & Chicago areas seem to get new waves a week to a month earlier than around MI, hunting there is just as frustrating and full of empty handed returns as around here... The same "full store on one side of town, empty store on the other" is common in other states, and I haven't found anything in TX or IL that I didn't eventually see in MI (except for the Ross stuff). I sympathize with everybody here, I really do, but I hope it helps ease y'all's frustration to hear that other states are some Joe Utopia... Maybe from reading Sightings threads there are less "nada new" posts, but in my experiences, hunting Joes in MI, TX & IL, it's unpredictable, frustrating, and full of awesome surprises (like today!) everywhere. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to share my experiences & give some perspective that will hopefully calm some of the (understandable) frustration.

A buddy of mine just scored 4 Techno Vipers at the Wal Mart at Middelbelt & Plymouth, (where Wonderland Mall used to be).

Anyone collecting arah/80s, 25th,ME,ROC,POC,30th and Renegades? I myself collect them all. I like the variety all though I wish that Hasbro produced it more along the lines of StarWars and all of its various lines; you know how they have StarWars - Clone Wars, the retro style in the Packaging and then the newest stuff based on the movie plus all the ones they make exclusive.
In a way after watching what Hasbro does for StarWars it would kill me to collect Joes the way I do if hasbro produced them in the method they produce StarWars. Because Army building, MoSc & MISB plus variants, Loose and plus being a completist would really make the wallet empty after awhile. Anyways I was just curious who all in the Michigan area was collecting the other lines of Joes and if anyone else was still collecting Arah? Well I hope all you Michigan Joe Collectors have a great holiday season with friends and family.

I think my complaints are more closely linked to the state of the state then of Hasbro.
I actually like what Hasbro has put out over the last year and in fact would love to buy more of it. My frustration is with living in a state that is the 47th best run state in the country and finds new ways to shoot itself in the foot every week. But yes - lots of areas have frustrating searches... the frustrating search in MI is typically because it really does arrive here after we see sightings elsewhere. Just my two cents, your mileage may vary.... Just checked Plymouth/Middlebelt - not really after the TVs but I'm guessing he had them pulled from the back because there was nothing new on the pegs. Was a shift change so didn't trouble the staff to dig for me. Last edited by MB Ferret; 12-04-2011 at 10:32 PM.. Reason: Updated |

I tend to always be a "glass half empty" kind of a guy. It is probably a very safe assumption that collectors in other states have the same frustrations that we share here in Michigan. Anyway, Merry Christmas to all of you here in the great state of Michigan. |

Scored 3 techno vipers 1 scarlett 1 tunnel rat and 1 rip cord at the walmart in woodhaven on allen rd at 3:00 am. When I left there was one of each of those figures left. No storm shadow or cobra troopers.
