Success! I took my receipts from previous Joe purchases along with the TRU sales flyer to Target in Cary today, and was refunded the difference in price. The person who helped me was a little perplexed as to whether or not she could do it, so she called another member of management who OK'ed it. I think a little charm and politeness helped a lot. First hurdle is that she asked if I actually had brought the items with me. I explained that I didn't know that this was a stipulation of the new policy, and so she let it slide. They had to refund the price difference of each individual figure at $4.99, so I wound up with 4 separate transactions (I've only bought 4 Joes thus far). While I'm quite pleased to have been able to get this to work, I'm highly skeptical that it'd work again. I think this is the first time I've ever done a "retroactive receipt refund."

If you're in the Charlotte area don't waste your time hitting the TRU in Pineville. They still have the small (and rather pathetic) display at the front of the store that is basically empty of figures. I was there today around 2 pm. Only thing that appeared to be restocked were the bravo and alpha vehicles.
K-Mart across the street did have 3 pegs full of figures (Paris SE & SS, CC and armored Scarlett to name a few), but at $8.99 they were collecting dust!

Took TRU newspaper ad from internet to Walmart on New Bern Ave..The chain smoking manager wouldn't let me price match because it was not the ad from the N and O. I left and went to Target at North Hills..BINGO!! They called the manager and he did the transaction with no problem. I was the 1st person they price matched. He stated they expect to have more problems price matching with other Target stores than other retailers. Try Target!! Hell with Walmart...

Wal-Mart in Rocky Mount and Nashville still have yet to put out any ROC stuff whatsoever, and the Target in Rocky Mount refuses to price match anything.

Target in Winston-Salem on University Pkwy looked like they may have gotten new figures. I saw figures with the little tags punched into them and there was a CC with the chest holes filled in. The date code was 153 or so (I'm leaving off the other numbers on purpose and just showing the "day" numbers) all the other figures I've seen since the first day was 122 or so
Unfortunately, no actual "new" figures were seen, but that doesn't mean they weren't there earlier |

Ok, I finally got around to opening the PIT. This thing is fraking huge. I'm still not sold on the carboard stuff but that can be done away with.
I put it together but haven't touched the stickers yet, 6 pages worth. The Hawk figure has weird painted on eyes. There's way too much white with a tiny black iris. Plus, he looks rather cheap. Overall, I think its a pretty decent toy and I plan on populating it with real 25th/Modern Joes. While I have all but one of the movie Joes, I'm still not completely sold on them. BTW, if anyone can get their hands on some TRU Fireflys, please hit me with a pm. Thanks!
