So riddle me this: what's the difference in the Doc with the #1 weapon and the Doc with the #2 weapon? If this is how Hasbro is attempting to do variants now, then that's truly an all-time low.

It's not a variant at all. You see, each mold has a couple of cavities where the plastic goes into to make the part. each cavity has a number for maitence purposes. So every time a mold is filled with plastic two guns are made. One with a #1 and one with a #2. Overzealous, overanilytical fans decided that it's a variant and now Hasbrotoyshop is jumping on the bandwagon. The biggest problem is that EVERYBODY thinks HTS = Hasbro the company that makes these toys, but HTS is just some crappy online retailer that has been licensed to sell only Hasbro toys

Very good to know! I take it this also means that the EEL "variant" which I heard about on HTS is the same crock?

Yes, the crap HTS pulled with their AFA Eel Variants has seemed to re-invigorate the misconception that these are actual variants

I wanted to say thanks to all the NC Tankers that came by the booth this weekend. Hope everyone was happy with their purchases or in vadersquest's case...his free Cobra Commander.

We had an overall good weekend and I actually found a few items for myself.
