Nothing new GI Joe wise at TRU today (Well they got more Combat Heroes) I guess I won't be getting a free Sigma Six Duke

Target on Lawndale had the new Indy battle Packs. I almost bought the one with Vogel in it, till I remembered I have every figure in the set already :(

Now I'm waiting on my 3 3/4" Hellboy2 boxset to show up (UPS says it'll be shipped today)

They did have the 3 3/4" Hellboy figures. I picked up Red with the shirt on and no open mouth and the chick (can't remember name). Very good articulation. Quite impressed.

In a bit of unbelievably fast order processing, I got Wraith from HTS today. This is the one I ordered with the 20% + free shipping deal not too long ago. He's a decent figure, but I still think the Para-Viper is the best of the wave. The Marauder P90 is an outstanding replacement for the oversized one he comes with.

I'm not really talking about multiple vehicles or cases or a father that insists on his child loving the franchise he grew up with. I'm talking about kids. When I as a kid, I often passed over multiples of figures I already owned. Why would I agree to owning a second tele-viper when I had the option of a STUN and Motor Viper; a figure I didn't already have? My G.I Joe collection was a hand full of singular characters while supported by an army of foot soldiers that ranged from the Cobra Officer to the Frag Viper. In fact, that was the point of the blossoming of the line. The figures didn't address the main characters, it addressed the army each had. I had one Viper; I had one BAT; I had one SAW Viper. All those guys ended up being a huge army of Cobra footsoldiers. My Joe figures were Rank and File oriented. I simply never had the option to army build. I might have, if I were looking to build an army and not get figures I didn't have, already. I collect for myself and have no need for an army of Cobra Eels. I want a single Cobra Eel, but 40 of them seems like the reason figures aren't found on the shelves for other collectors.

wal mart on market st. got in 3 cases of W5R5. It was just chilling out on the pallet.
after talking with the nice young lady working the toy dept., who looked like an extra from a Dokken video, I was informed that they would not be opened and put out until "the crap thats up there" goes away.
So long story short, we ain't getting nothing until all that stuff either goes on clearance or by some random miracle people buy it.

I'm pretty sure that ACTUAL members of Dokken do work for Wal-Mart (except for George Lynch who is a Target man).

It's the same story here in Raleigh. I haven't seen anything beyond the BAT wave in a retail store. Most of the stores around here are getting filler waves, but they're pegwarming now. The poor Super Wal-Mart on Wake Forest Road is so clogged up with Cobra Air Troopers, Snow Jobs, and Iron Grenadier Destros, it's just ridiculous. I did spot a SHARC and a Firebat in a Target store last week, though, but I've had those for at least a month and a half now. SidDarth and The Outer Rim Collectibles is the best thing to have happened for GI Joes in this area - I'm really, REALLY sick of the sluggishness of retail stores around here.
