TRU in Cary at Crossroads is resetting today. They had remnants of wave 9. I scored a BBQ, Major Bludd, and Snow Serpent. Still no 5 or 3 packs yet but the lady said she "hadn't seen them yet, but probably soon." whatever that means.
Reset was a closer to the front of the store isle and not just endcap, an actual GIJoe section, almost 1/2 a rack. Reminded me of the old days. ~D |

I love my wife.
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/7799/image049sm2.jpg (Clean thoughts, people - I'm NOT going to post anything like you might be hoping for. The camera phone image is simply too large to post here.) I came home from school a few days ago to find this little scene on my desk. She had said that she was going to Wal-Mart and asked if there was anything I was looking for. I casually joked that I sure would like to find that B.A.T., and she responded that she didn't know what it looked like. I told her that there were some cards on my desk with a picture of it on the backs of them, and I didn't think anything more of it. I came home late and went into my office to find one of the funniest surprises she's ever left for me. She had taken my Imperial pilots and made them hold the Rebel pilots at gunpoint until they apparently agreed that the Cobras are cooler than the Joes. She has the most astonishing luck that I've ever seen when it comes to toy hunting. I had been searching for a B.A.T. for 4 weeks across 2 states. She, on the other hand, walks into a single store, and picks out the hardest figure to find when she's not even 100% sure what she's looking for. And this isn't the first time I've seen her do it, either! She's helped me find several GI Joes and Star Wars figures over the past few years. So yeah, I'm finally finished with wave 9. I have yet to find any new comic packs here in Raleigh. No Rattlers or Conquests, either. Super Wal-Mart on New Bern did have 2 GI Joe boxes on a pallet last night, but they were all vehicles. Haven't had time to hunt anyplace else since school just restarted this week. |

Dear Douche,
Don't bother returning to the GSO Battleground Walmart to retrieve the figures whose cards you mutilated. Nice try, broke-ass loser. |

Okay, so I moved to California from Raleigh about 8 months back, and I just check the NC postings for gits and shiggles, and usually, I'm like, "DAMN! The luck!". I think it's the over-saturation of nerds in the Silicon Valley area that I live in which is to blame for the lack of Joes... Too many addicts, not enough nerd-supply of G.I. Crack.
Anyways, this was one of the few postings that I'm actually glad I don't have this luck. I've seen "unfortunate" boxcutter slashes down figures, and crushed figures, and returned ones, and although I've heard of these evil Wal-Mart and Target stockers/shoppers who damage collectors figures, I have yet to come across one. But Vaseline? That's the last straw. I think I'd just walk up behind them and punch them square in the temple if I saw that. |

It was some form of petroleum jelly. And no fingerprints either which suggests whoever did it wore gloves.

Just left the TRU in Pineville. They had one gold head Destron/IG pack left, CC/Tripwire comic pack and a few single carded Bazookas. Also had several Night Watch and Red Ninja 5 packs and a slew of all 3 Ranking Official sets.
I walked away w/ a gold head Destro/IG & Falcon/Nemesis Enforcer...+ a ML Doc Sampson and TF Universe Acid Storm
