So what do you guys think about Disney possibly buying Hasbro... I mentioned this as a "what if" after they bought Lucasfilm and now we have a rumor. Just was wondering what you guys think.

I don't think this deal will happen until late 2013 or 2014 at the earliest. It took at least 1.5 years of negotiations to buy LFL. And after putting out big bucks for that, I can't see another major acquisition so soon - unless there is a tax/financial reason that benefits both companies. One that could disappear under a new congress/president.
If they buy Hasbro, I'd say it would be more for the Intellectual Property of Transformers, Joe, MLP, etc than to manufacture toys. Disney isn't in the manufacturing business; they're in the character building/licensing business. But if it does happen, I would be fine with it. They have shown to be good sheppards of Marvel and I predict the same for Star Wars. |

As far as toys go, Star Wars will be fine...at least during movie years. Same can be said for Marvel. Transformers should be okay as well, with the success of the movies and cartoons. GI Joe may not, though. Hasbro has given the property far more leniency than Disney would (IMHO of course). Hasbro has a vested interest in the property doing well and have invested a ton of time and money to get it in a position to succeed. Lets be honest, the investment hasn't yielded astounding results. Disney may just cut it loose. |

Hasbro has a sign on the building across from the Dunkin Donuts Center announcing it as the future home of the sales and marketing department. Leases can always be broken but I don't see Hasbro leaving RI even if the deal goes through. I didn't read about any of Marvel's subsidiaries moving west.

I found a Jungle BAT at the Walgreens right by my house this morning. They also had a regular TF Prime Vehicon. That's the first time I've ever seen that version. I don't collect the Prime stuff though.
For X-Mas I ordered all the trade paperbacks of the original Marvel ARAH run through Amazon along with the upcoming boxed set of the Special Missions issues. I'll have some nice Joe reading material for the new year.

TRU says they get new stock everyday from trucks that come every night.
I have not seen new MU stock for a while. Anyone have similar experience with TRU?
