Rhode Island G.I. Joe Sightings

see,... I get what everyone is saying. Thing is, this hobby requires you to be able to have time to hunt,....and even then, it has to be on the right days or times. Some of us have put effort into knowing when those days are and are there ready to buy when they hit the shelves.

Some of us are troop builders,..myself included. I buy what I want when I see it, and if I don't find it, then I go about other means to get them. Now, if I know someone is looking for something, I will pick it up for them. I have helped out other RI and MA Tankers (FD, SN, Airtight, DS, Beam, SS,..ect.) at cost or in trade. What gets on my nerves though is when people complain that there are no figures left on the shelf. If I go to a store and they have a fresh case out, do you really expect me to leave them there? If I don't buy them, someone else will. Now if you really wanted them, you would post that in the boards and someone would help you out.

As of right now, I have 30th Cobra Troopers and Steel Brigades up for grabs, but not one person has stated they are looking for them yet. It goes both ways.

Sorry if I sound insincere, but communication is key. I thought the point of the sightings thread was not only to help locate items as they appear, but let other Tankers know they need stuff.

Ccakman, Haha it is like plastic crack, I have tried to quit many times and I will be like just one figure, then all of a sudden I have a whole bag. I would fail rehab.

Stormshadow73 That is the whole reason I sold my Entire MU collection, it was more sad then anything never finding anything.

Beam and Destro's Son I have a tough schedule without the kids, and I think it is tough, so I couldn't imagine.Agreed that there are tough times, but don't give up. I agree with fastdraw their are other good sources out there too like smalljoes and bbts. I have used both and have been treated well.

Though I think the coolest thing still is running into the store for something like bread and coming out with a toy. That's the kid in me.

Airtight, well said I agree with a lot of your points and or able to see your point of view.

Yes Dngr82 I do expect other people to buy toys you don't, kids, parents, fans, ect. Yes some will get to scallpers, but if you buy everything how does anyone get anything. I want lots of things but I didn't realize you wanted a list. Maybe some of us can get together and put one together so you don't feel so obligated to buy everything.

Did anyone make it to North Attleborro, did anyone score?

Most of the stuff I want I get through lists I give to other local tankers. Ask Shadow Ninja. I call him at least 4 times per week to update it...lol

Yeah, my original community comment was to bust ShadowNinjas balls cause I feel like we know each other well enough to do so.

The Tankers I've met have been awesome. It's fun to get together, and I wicked appreciate everyone who helps me track down these 5 Vipers.

I'm not being a tool or a martyr when i say snooze=lose for me. I make my own decisions and I decide to spend time with my baby at the end of the day. I'm a big boy and can accept what goes along with not being able to make it to a store on truck day when it opens in the morning.

Plus, if you want something bad enough... sigh.... EBAY IT! YA?

First because there is like 15 of us, can you imagine trying to coordinate an event on 15 different schedules? I can't make it to many events, cause of the fam, so I try to stay in the loop through shadow ninja. Should folks invite me to something when they know damn well I'm at work or obligated otherwise, NO! That'd just make me jealous!
Second, we are a kind bunch. Plastic greedy one and all, but good men. If I started meeting tankers and they were a bunch of douchebags, I would fly lower under their radar. But the dudes are all pretty rad, not a fucktart among them.
Bottom line: Don't take shit personally, cause at the end of the day, your not a zombie, so you got that goin for you, ya?

I'm not blaming the lack of product on pegs at all..I blame that solely on distribution. I was just at TRU in Warwick and there was 2 IG's..but the kicker is there was just 1 peg..target Warwick Mall nothin but arctic destros..pretty pathetic. Not like back when we were kids when there were aisles full of Joes, T'Formers, etc..I'm not hating on ppl that are fortunate to find the figures on shelves. For me, it was more aggravating than fun trying to find these figures. Plus I was running out of room for them too.

As for the meets I've met a few peeps, had a few hook me up and vice versa. Thats why I kinda bothers me that although I've gone to a couple of meets in the past, I find out after the fact that there have been a couple more and no invite extended to me. But hey what are ya gona do that's life I guess...

I was in tru, warwick tonight round closing, I had to stop at the stop n shop btw had a lone black gasmask trooper and two stormies, but I saw the new black plane, I put it behind the skystrikers if anyone is looking for itsorry but names escape me right now. Must have just missed you stormshadow73.

Okay so where do I start.... Hmmm. First I'm sure I have a lot of people backing me that I have helped or have tried to help.. If I'm out hunting myself then I will grab the items for people and they get it at cost from me plus I usually eat the change if it's like 23 cents 35 cents etc.. I have good intel and Air-Tight, Tucker, Dreadnok619 and Destro's Son can back that.. I have told Air-Tight where and when a case will be and 2 weeks ago he got his first figures. Three weeks ago I told DGNR8 and Destro's Son that Warwick had a case in the back. Neither one could make it there that Friday and Fast Draw scored them at opening on Saturday morning. Just today I told DS where he could have got 3 Vipers but he was working... (Bummer dude) Notice I'm not saying where they are..

I have helped a lot of people out and one of the best moves Tucker made was meeting me and that is his own personal quote!!! I am not a douche bag unlike some people might think. I have always told people to come to meets when they have been planned.. Now if you have other engagements such as work, a baseball game, picking daisies out in a green pasture then that is your buisness but don't cry about not making it to a meet. While we are on the subject if said person named "Joeblow" invites me and a couple other Tankers over to his/or her house for a mini meet but doesn't invite someone else what am I going to do say I'm not going cause so and so didn't get invited... Reality is there are people on here who might not get along with one another.. I am taking the high road on here and not going to drop bombs because its just not worth it but if it came to it I have plenty of people backing me and can also refer people to an incident that KingofPain can get my back on as well.. Most of the guys on here can't make lunch and there were about 3 luncheons that myself, DS, DGNR8, Fast Draw, and Dreadnok619 made.. Most of the other guys were working.. If you don't get an invite like DS said don't take it personally.. Maybe someone going doesn't like you or want to be in the same place as you.. Someone want to explain why I'm defending myself...?????? Enough of that...

As far as getting figures I have to go with DGNR8 and say when I go into a place I'm taking all the hard to find figures.. How do people think I hook people up.. Tucker is a GREAT FRIEND and I have helped him out a lot as he is always working.. Is it right for me to say "Hey I know your working but you need to get your own figures cause its not right taking all the figures???" Ya right I can't do that.. Like Fast Draw said there are other places to grab the figures from like BBTS and Small Joes.. I'm sure I will be adding to this in another post but this is it for now.. I'm out.. Whoever wants to try and make it to the meet then PM me.. I know Squibbles and Atom Smasher can't make this one..

Also if you guys think it's bad now finding new figs like Hazard Vipers and Vipers wait till Techno Vipers come out.. It's going to be everyman for himslef.. I'm saving myself the time and just ordering like 10 from BBTS It will be a lot easier..

Last note hope you don't think I was being a D**k yesterday about the post Destro's Son .. Just seems like a lot of people grabbing the Vipers. Let me know if you might head to that place I said.. I am looking for you and also have 2 Hot Wheels collectors looking for you as well..
