Seeing "Cobra Commander" in an episode of Transformers was mind-blowing for me, as a kid:

A few points. 1. Michelle was hot. 2. It was pretty cool how this added an additional piece of evidence to confirm the shows existing in a shared universe. 3. I'm curious what the creators were thinking and knew about what happened to CC in G.I. Joe the movie. Did they know that CC got turned into a snake? Was there already a plan in place to possibly turn him back into a humanoid form? CC did have new figure out in 1987.

It would still work as Transformers the Movie is set in 2005 and the season Old Snake was in was after that, so plenty of time for him to get turned into a snake and then back again in the DiC cartoon.

Even DiC forgot his snake form, after having addressed it in Operation: Dragonfire. His eyes have a human flesh-tone around them in seasons 1 & 2.

I can't tell you for sure what the creators were thinking, but I don't think it's an accident that Old Snake wears tattered gloves, and what we can see of his hands looks an awful lot like they did after his mutation in the movie. (well, before they disappeared, of course).

I've always believed that Sunbow would have somehow tied the battle armor into CC's restoration if they'd gotten to the third season.

Regardless if he turned fully back to a human or not, he did age well.! Still crazy?
Even though it seemed that whole Cobra Commander turned into a actual snake might have been one of his delusions or he was on something at the time.

I dunno... it seemed pretty real to the Joes, too. Flint even holds him up at one point.
