The Pyramid of Darkness episodes are definitely my favorite story from the series. I had it on tape from when it had aired together one day like a movie. I watched the hell out of the tape as a child, and then again as a teenager in high school.

See ... that's tempting me to sit and watch those episodes again this weekend. I think my love of snow Joes are most of the reason why I like this and the MASS Device mini so much. Something about wintertime, snow days, and hauling out as many Joes as possible to play outside till my lips turned purple sums up my childhood. I wish I'd have held onto the VCR tapes.

Learning how to play on one VCR and record onto another was like gold!

I really love how cinematic they made the final battles of each of the miniseries' and Pyramid of Darkness was no exception. No matter how hilariously campy the story was leading up to the finale they always ended with a bang that dare I say was often genuinely exciting.
Sometimes the finales were even both hilarious *and* exciting (like the Gamemaster, lol.) |
